Looks like Fins coaching staff got caught drinking that coolaid.

To think that they would have a chance against R Moss in man coverage with Jason Allen? c'mon man!

Not sure why they decided to play so much man. The blitz never got to Cassel, after the first drive, Pasqualoni should have gone to a lot more zone with man-under to shut down the bubble screens and draws.

NE came in knowing what would work...Fins coaches didnt have a clue.
One pass downfield all day? no TE deep down the seams? No two TE formations? Just a bad game plan all the way around on O and D.

Fins are who we think they are...a 8-8 or 9-7 team at best, which is pretty good compared to last year.

Its a shame because the fins could have had a better chance playing zone and keeping everything underneath the coverage. Instead, they continue to give up the big plays down field.

Got outcoached.

i was hoping we would adjust as well. i just cant see letting cassel pick us apart. we did bring quite a bit of pressure, but obviously not enough

i think we got more outmanned than out coach. We have no pass defense and we knew that since the arizona game.

Thats why we should have played a cover 2 shell. We dont man up against most teams WR's. So why play man D when you dont have the talent or matchups?

Thats coaching. A simple Zone cover 2 doubling the WR's, with a strong jam on Welker would have funneled Cassel to dump off to RB in the flats. A whole different game.

Rookie coaches wanting to challenge got burned on the Blitz.

We've known that since last season! And the one before .. We have made no adjustments to our DB's at all, I just wanna fast forward and get to the offseason really, seeing them get burned week in and week out really kills me

they did put will allen on welker which i thought was a good move, though i would assume in that instance with jason allen on moss you have help over the top. im curious as to why they left allen on an island with moss so often

I missed the AZ game.. was the defense as defenseless then, as they were today?

This defense couldnt get penetration. Thats all you gotta say. Any QB can pick apart a defense if he can sit back there all day. Porter didnt come to play today and also the whole defense didnt.

Actually we got a lot of penetration, but somehow Cassel was able to throw perfectly off his back foot, and perfectly on the move.. did real life just turn into Madden?

what can porter do, e had a sack i believe. he isn't superhuman and they obviously gameplanned to not let him blow up their offense. wether it was a back chipping him, a tight end helping out he drew alot of attention from the pats

Dude's we DID ADJUST. Cassel was scortching us the entire game. During the 1st Qtr and up till midway through the 2nd qtr, we werent getting ANY pressure on the QB AT ALL. He was going to continue to light us up whether we played zones or what the **** ever.

If you didnt notice, we started blitzing on almost every play starting about midway through the 2nd Qtr. It was then we started forcing him to get the ball out quickly, and he still beat us most of the time. The times we didnt get any pressure and blitz we had no shot at all. But, we had to take that risk.

If we had continued like we were going in the first qtr and the beginning of the 2nd, he was going to just sit back and toast us all day. We werent generating any pressure at all until we started blitzing corners and LBs profusely. We had to come after him and force him to make quick decisions, hoping he would make a mistake. But, he never did. The guy killed us.

i didnt see the blitz all the time, i seen 4-3 defence, man covg, with normally basic 4 man rush with no penetration. I agre we got schooled.

What worked was bltizing off corner with CB or extra LB, but wasnt utilized enoug, Cassel never seemed to pick it up

Actually I though the blitz was efective. We just did run it enough. When the safetys came in he was stopped cold.

I agree 100%, no pressure to the quarteback at all, this is not college this is the NFL is you allow the QB to sit and scan the field he will pick you apart, this is what happen today.... they had a ton of plays of 10 or more yards.

our d line got handled today. could not consistently put any pressure on cassel. i was also thinking that belichecks game plan was to spread us out with 3, 4, and 5 wide outs. he ran these formations all day and we NEVER stopped it. i am not a coach and don't understand all of defensive schemes. seemed to me belicheck saw something he liked in our nickel and dime packages, he attacked it mercilessly and we never stopped em. call it great play calling from the pats or weak play from us, i'm sure its a combo of the 2. our d got hammered today, absolutely shredded, the pats scored on every possession except when they turned the ball over
