Pass Interference or No Pass Interference, that is the Question

yeah the forward roll by pouncey was an impressive display of what an athlete he is at that size...but why not just pull up on the play instead of trying that...probably cause you don't want your head coach/dc seeing you pull up while the plays still live so you go to ground

Super star rule. Revis gets away with more than any CB I've seen in this league. He's become the Jordan of CBs. I don't remember Prime Time, Woodson, or any other CB getting these calls. Either way the pass shouldn't have been thrown.

I'm with you on this one. This year especially. First game they had against the cowboys he was all over Bryant way down the field on some occasions. Any calls made? Nope! It will certainly suck if the NFL starts pulling the same BS that the NBA does with really over doing it with the superstars. Brady is another one too. Don't breath on him or you'll get called for roughing.

When I saw the title I thought this was about the multiple Marshall push offs to get free?:D

Could it have been called? sure but Marshall did stumble into Revis and it appeared Revis saw the ball coming and tried to move around marshall while Marshall had no idea where the ball was. Also, they were allowing both guys to be really physical. There were multiple times where PI could have been called on either but they allowed them to play.

good god guys stop crying about pass interference...marshall and revis were goin at it all game and marshall pushed off a plenty to get the separation to make some of those catches...it was a great battle and we got burned...revis does that to people who go after him too much...don't blame the refs blame the guy who decided it was a good idea to keep going to that well...

I dont think it is crying, just an observation. Even John Gruden was talking about it later in the game saying he wishes you could throw a challenge flag on the non PI calls that Revis is getting away with. Was he crying?

grudens sitting in a booth looking at a tv monitor just like most of us...i think the positioning of the official was the problem...but i also agree with people who say certain guys get away with more than others...and lets face it i'm sure nfl officials like revis more than they do marshall as a person...no doubt in my mind on that one...

but also when you have a guy who every week locks up the opposition to the tune of like 3 catches for 36 yards in 5 games period period you are gonna give the guy the benefit of the doubt more than not...revis has earned his reputation...he's fantastic...

I thought Marshall was stumbling so we don't get the call.
Later in the game Vonte got called for pretty much the same thing.
The jets scored shortly after the freebe 3rd down conversion.

2 calls both go the Jets way=14 points.

And thats not even counting the FG we would have kicked if they took away Revis's pick. LOL.

Call those 2 plays the opposite and Miami wins 9-7

I agree and I would say he is the best CB in the NFL. The rule is after 5 yards it is illegal contact. He covers the reciever like a blanket the entire route and NEVER gets that call. There is no benifit of a doubt to give him. If he breaks the rules, he should get a flag. Period

fine...but you can't call it if you can't see it and revis back is blocking the officials view...you can't just assume when you are behind the play a foul occurred...revis pulled on him and then let him go and went to the ball...unless he was pulling on him at like the shoulder level the ref has no chance of seeing it when the plays coming right at him and the defenders back is all he can see...no chance

Had BM turned his head and "sat dwon" it was a TD no question - BM was no where near the ball Revis just looked it in the contact was afiter five yards was obvious but Revis earned his rep like all the great ones

why are you throwing the ball there anyways when your wr is off balance and not even looking at you and the only guy who can see you ie the qb and the ball is the damn db??? i tell ya why...cause you locked into marshall from the snap and never came off it...moore was goin that way the entire time...no matter what

and he got burned

I agree with you again on that play. Fine the ref didnt see it and he didnt call it. What about every other play in the game when he is still jamming the reciever way after 5 yards. Not every one of those will be seen I understand that. My point is Revis does not get the PI calls or the illegal contact calls that he should. I know it shouldnt work that way and give the superstar a break, but we all know it happens.

Man, not sure if its posted already..but on espn2 they're showing a profile on revis...no doubt he is an excellent CB, But man does he hold!

I don't think anyone is really crying about the call. I think the thread is just about whether is was Pass Interference or not. It definately should've been illegal contact. Since the emphasis that was placed on calling it 4 or 5 years ago it is a really common flag and it should've been thrown on that play. I do agree with you that it was probably tough to see. I didn't even really notice it until the replay. At the same time though the camera was on Matt Moore until he threw the ball, the ref had a better view than most of the T.V. watchers out there since he was on the field at the time.

The biggest problem with that play is I don't understand why Matt Moore threw the ball. Illegal contact should be called even if you don't throw it to the fouled reciever unlike Pass Interference. Terrible decision by Moore.
