Here is an interesting article on the Passer Rating Differential:

The statistic and its effect make sense. I believe the argument post last month to acquire Mnamdi Asomugha during free agency might be our best opportunity to significantly improve this statistic.

Nine out of the twelve playoff teams were identified by this statistic. The only playoff teams not in the top twelve for this statistic were the Colts (13th), the Jets(14th), and the Seahawks (29th). The Dolphins were ranked 24th by this statistic. For those of you who believe this is all Chad Henne's fault, Miami would have been 19th with the Rams defense!! Miami would have been 15th with the Jets Defense. Finally, Miami would have been tied for 10th with the Packers Defense.

Very interesting stat for sure. I know that passer rating correlates to turnovers as well. I believe if Miami's young secondary can hold onto some of those interceptions this year, the Dolphins differential should be a lot better.

Interesting indeed. As if we needed more proof why Sporano's method = FAIL. Our beloved fist pumping, FG kicking coach staunchly believes in running the ball and stopping the run to win, and the team has been designed as such. The PRD stat in the article shows that the successful teams are anti-Sporano in philosophy: consistently high passer rating from your QB, while shutting down the passing game of the opposing teams.
