Anyone know if he has been signed by anyone.. I know he gets banged up but would be worth a backup n the middle to push someone.

Could be a guy to look at after the draft if we don't pick one up.

It would be better to get a rookie LB in the mix and see what he can do. Angerer would cost more and as you noted seems to be injury prone now.

He's the kind of dude i'd like us to add - that said Chris Borland in the 5th round could be our version - cheaper and less wear and tear

Being am Iowa fan, this would be a solid signing to sure upbthw run D. Not sure he's a 3 down linebacker however.

Borland will not last to the 5th. A pure ILB, he will be gone late 2nd, early 3rd. If he is there for our 3rd pick, I would be all over that like a fat kid on a cupcake

Backup? Backup? Are you ****ing serious? The guy is worth any two of our LB's right now!

Id love to see Pat in a dolphins uniform. Since he is an Iowa boy that grew up just five miles from me! Bettendorf and Davenport are so close you could drive into other city and not know it if it were not.marked!

He may be better Dr Phill but Wheeler was not injured at all last year. You can't count on him being your full time starter.

And so you would pass on Angerer for a "health Wheeler"?

gets dinged up an awful lot...be a guy on your 53 taking a spot you never know if he will play for you that week...probably why he's still on the streets...i'd wait til after the draft to see if anything comes our way before i considered this

Colts won’t re-sign Pat Angerer

“They gave me a heads-up I would not be re-signed by them,” Angerer said, via the Indianapolis Star. “I understand. I’ve been hurt the past two years. It’s part of the business. It’s part of the game. There comes a time when you’ve got to move on. I wish I could have played better here. I wish I hadn’t gotten hurt.”

Angerer ended last year on injured reserve with a knee injury and had surgery that he’s rehabbing from right now. He anticipates being ready to return to action in June or July, although it remains to be seen how much that injury (and a foot that’s been surgically repaired twice) will impact interest on him on the open market.

Angerer was in on 148 tackles in 2011 but has less than 100 total tackles the past two seasons combined because of time missed due to leg injuries.

" a foot that's been surgically repaired twice" That's usually not an injury that, on average, goes away. They tend to linger.... But If he's available after the draft, and we haven't picked up anything better...then for sure, go for it!
