I kind of like what I see from this Kid. He has talent, good stats
Senior year put up 22 TD's and only 3 Picks : 68% completion percentage
His collegiate career is 48 TD's 12 Picks : 65.2% completion percentage

If you watch the video he does a great job on the quick out/slant routes
BUT he also does an EXCELLENT job on keeping his head down field, he seems to move around the pocket
just enough....keeping his head on a swivel constantly.

He will throw a couple risky ones like the double coverage around 2:40
But hey, hes only a rookie and why not take the risk every once in a while?!

That being said, I still expect Miami to keep their word and get a veteran.
But watch the bench, I think Miami is experimenting with a nice kid here.

I agree that he can be good remembering that HIGHLIGHT videos are videos on their BEST plays.

And we have brought in a Veteran QB, his name is Matt Moore.

i think the fins are puposely not playing him much in preaseson so he doesnt showcase himself
they will try to slide him onto practice squad and rolll with kevin oconnel
And if you ask me i think they should just get him ready to be the 3rd guy
maybe he starts a game this season be good for him ...

Thats why I posted the stats as well, these videos are about potential, not about what you expect every single play.

Even the Great Peyton Manning and Dan Marino don't look great every single week, who cares?

He's gonna have to show a bit more than he did in pre season game 1. He didn't help his case at all to make the 53, in that game, wasn't helped by the oline but seemed very indecisive.

I'll rooting for the kid though, really hope he maks the 53, because I don't buy the comment above about us purposely under playing him so no one takes him off our practice squad. He won't last long on there, because of his career in college. Anyway he played way more in game 1 than O'Connell.

Right now it's a straight fight between him and O'Connell for the 3rd string job, I hope he beats the veteran out.

We already are not the best talent evaluators out there, if this truly is a project they better stick him in at number 3.
I'd be pissed if we stick him on there and the Patsies get him off waivers

i would rather have devlin as the number three, he is going to be good

Good accuracy, gets the ball out quick but the two times I have seen him play against top talent he looked bad.

Unless he lights the world on fire over the next three weeks he's not making the team over Kevin O'Connell.

He looked overwhelmed vs. Atlanta. He's got work to do.

He is our only hope for a frachise quarterback (or at least a decent starter) right now. We missed it in the draft, and now we have a chance for retribution. I'm not sure Sporano has any knowledge about the quarterback position. Why sign the guy if you are not even going to give him a chance? All the other teams are giving their rookie quarterbacks much oppurtunity in practice and preseason games. We seem to keep shooting ourselves in the foot. What are we going to do--draft a quarterback next year and spend another year or two developing him, and then in the meantime look for reject backups to be our starter?

I don't think he did all that bad in the Atlanta game (only played two posessions). Didn't get protection, tight end misses the pass...didn't really get chance to get his feet wet. Look at Moore's first two possessions against Atlanta--wasn't any better.

I'm sorry but there is no such thing as a "good quarterback project" under this regime. The last quarterback coach (name escapes me), along with Dan Henning just completely ruined Henne. That stupid 3 second buzzer in practice didn't do him any good, and that checkdown mentality sure as heck didn't either. And I don't expect much better results from our converted wide receiver coach.

You're right. Why do we have a receiver coach for quarterback coach? We are clueless at the quarterback position. We try to win now--that aint happening--so we sacrifice the future for the present....then we lose now and in the future. We're pathetic. We can't win without great quarterback.

I hope he pans out, we need some depth and competition for Henne...make all of them step theyre game up!!
