NFL.com's Pat Kirwin notes from training camp that the entire Dolphins organization realizes this is Chad Pennington's team.

Pennington isn't looking over his shoulder at Chad Henne, and won't miss action this year barring injury or unexpectedly long losing streak. That said, Kirwin says Henne is "really developing as a QB," and he will be "very ready" when the Dolphins turn to him in 2010

I would love to see Chad have another healthy season just to see what Miami does. I frankly think Miami is trying to sign Brown before FA, so they can Franchise Chad if he has a good season. The Phins are not scared to use the Franchise tag either just this offseason if Carey would have not agreed to signing he was gonna get franchised.

Miami has a nice little headache at QB, when was the last time we could say that?

I like hearing that Penny is as comfortable as ever almost as much as I like hearing Henne is looking good. Does this mean we can eventually stop drafting QBs in the second round?

Probably not we do need a wild cat backup

Wouldn't it make more sense to sign Pennington to a decent deal and frachise Brown when a RB cap figure would be almost a third of what a QB's franchise number is? Do you really feel Pennington is worth 17mil+ a year and probably even more with some of these new QB deals. I like Pennington but not for that much money!

:lol2: You can never have enough backups....Tebow 2010!!!!:woot::lol:

I agree, resign Penny and tag RB. Or just resign both. But what a great guy for Henne to be learning from, could we have asked for a better setup?

Probably will get flamed.... Colt Mccoy 2010! hahaha

Also anyone see us using a 1st or 2nd on a RB?? hmmm

No way we Franchise Pennington, sorry. Way too much $$$$ foor a team that is much better off, but still building.

I dont think the fins let Brown walk, especially if he has a good season and with how effective he runs the wildcat. truth is they are already talking contract with him.

I think its pretty clear the FO is waiting to see what Penny does this year. If the FO believed they were not going to resign Penny next year they would probably go with Henne, who could be mentored and coached by Penny. If Penny has a year like last year they are going to resign him whether it be a 2 or 4 yr deal. As for Ronnie he will get a contract after they are sure he is 100% and not an injury prone RB. IMO if they were so high on Henne he would be starting this year, second I think if they believed Henne was so good they wouldnt take the ball out of his hands by signing White.

It is general opinion White is going to be the Wildcat, WildPat, or spread offense QB this year but someone help me out here? if your the third string QB can you only play if the QB is injured? or is White going to be the second string QB so he can be in and out? I am not to knowledgable on the 2nd string 3rd string QB rules.

Anyway is it posibble that if Penny does well this year that they resign him and let Henne move on with White being the backup? dont know but it will interesting to see what happens.

maybe someday, but you know if Pennington walks, that would leave only two QB's on the roster... haha

a typical team only activates 2 QB's on the 45-player gameday roster. however, a 3rd string QB can be activated during the game if the other two QB's get injured. he's sort of an extra (46th) player to be used only in case of emergency. when the 3rd QB is used, the other two cannot re-enter the game.
you can get around all this by simply activating all 3 QB's. then Pat White can go in and out of the game at any time.
