Pat McAfee Show: Darius Butler Breaks Down Defensive Coverage Of Week 2 | Miami @23:34

Ofcourse Darius doesn't want to give us any credit and puts it all on Ravens for being out of sorts.

I know you, like a lot of us, are tired of that always being the narrative whenever Miami beats a decent team, but their secondary was really bad.

I guess every time a D matches up to an O and gets 🔥 we make up excuses for them -

Truth is with Cover 0 don’t even posture if you don’t have the horses

Safeties can’t make the depth back in time before C gets the ball off for a Hill or Waddle it is a go every time

So to be less subjective you have to be mindful of the things he's pointing out. For example, he was right to say that the Ravens were clueless out there in those play he highlighted. The last play was the best example of them all. The ravens in 3rd and 10 should have forced Miami to rely on plays that would force Miami to throw on out routes, or corner routes. In other words, any zone coverage scheme would have been better rather than have two men deep that would simply get burned by Hill or waddle. While Tua isn't getting enough credit, seeing two safeties deep gives the quarterback an idea where the ball is going. We can simply move a receiver toward the outside then have the receiver turn back in the inside

I mean, where is Butler wrong? Did we run some trickery on those two Hill bombs? They were two go routes, where the fastest player in the NFL got behind the defense, which were not only in in questionable formations, but also made big mistakes on those plays. Those two TDs were the result of rookie mistakes, not because of a unique play design. Still means Tua had to execute the play, which he did to perfection. We took advantage of their mistakes, which is what I am getting from the video. Its not like some of these other clowns on TV that said the Ravens lost the game, rather than us winning it.

Pretty much the response of every Tua hating talking head. “Oh the ravens defense was awful, how can you let tyreek hill run behind your secondary blah blah blah…”

Yeah for sure, it’s just if you listened to all of the talking heads who have spewed hate at Tua they’d rather point out the ravens mistakes rather than give Tua any credit. Basically, true or not, at some point as Tua consistently puts up big numbers and makes deep throws they all said he wasn’t capable of making they will have to admit they got it wrong about Tua, and they don’t want to do that.

YES - you can say that "we made our own luck".
McDaniel has always been quite open about wanting a lot of speed everywhere.

Yes, the real question should have been - "what was planned pregame by Baltimore to keep Hill & Waddle & Gesicki bottled up".

The fault lies with Baltimore's Coaching staff and the success lies with Miami's coaching staff. Result - we won!!!!!

We planned to confuse their secondary and they had no answer.

Couple that with the concept of throwing the ball where "us or nobody" can catch it was a "mantra" for our passing game - one we were successful with most of the time.

All those things made "taking chances" on 3rd and 4th downs not only viable, but clearly successful.

Hey, you are talking to a Tua supporter. Ive defending him 1000% up until now. He was lights out against the Ravens. He still held on to the ball too long a couple of times, was quick to check down a couple of times, and through a bad INT, but overall, I am not complaining about a 460+6 day. I think the more he progresses, gains confidence in himself, and gains confidence in his body, which I think is one of his biggest flaws, the better he will be.

I am just saying, that we did not do anything crazy against the Ravens, other than what we were supposed to do, when the mismatch or mistake presented itself. The two bombs were really the mistakes the talking clowns can say were the Ravens fault, but the other scores were playcalling and Tua, period. That strike to MG in the back of the endzone was perfection. And nearly hit Waddle again with it before Waddle's eventual game winner.

I am fully confident in Tua, and in this coaching staff. I do not like that again we are seeing a bend but dont break mentality from the D early on in the season, but if they get better as the season goes on, and the offense keeps taking these strides....look out!
