Pat White can change NFL Football

Now we know why so many receivers and receivers of all types....spread offense here we come.

I mentioned this yesterday. I dont believe it will be our base offense, but I could see it being implemented a few times a game....WAY more options than just the wildcat.

I'm starting to disagree....the Wildpat will be the future offense of the Dolphins. We only received a small taste of it last season because they didn't have the key player...White. I'm leaning that the Dolphins use it at least 50% of the total plays this year.

And this could be the end of Penny...depending how it works out till opening day. I'm going to get my tickets for the preseason game against the Bucs...OBaby!!!

If you are going to run it that much, IMO your better off to use a base spread formation with 4 wide and a rb or 5 wide with no rb....similar to what white ran at WV....does anyone else wonder if the braintrust will be picking pats brain to get some of the plays they used at WV?

Thats exactly how the pats came back to beat baltimore 2 yrs ago. They took everything from the gun and rendered Baltimores blitz scheme and their LB's useless. With 4 and 5 recievers on the field you nhave to bring in exhtra corners and remove LB's....with White, comes a threat of him running....I don't know exactly what theyre going to do but with Sparanos visiting with Urben Meyer and us drafting Pat White....sonmething more than just 6 or 7 wildcat plays is in store.

Perhaps thats why they selected so many receivers.

So now P.White is on par with T.Brady, awesome. Even better let's run a 197lb QB at Baltimore's defense! R.Lewis is lick'in his chops as we speak.

Where did you get that White was on par with brady?? I was talking about formations. The only counter to a spread with 5 recievers using Baltimore as an example Ray Lewis would probably be the spy in the middle....if it comes down to ray Lewis and Pat White in the open field one on one, I'd bet on White. Far to elusive.

Your making is sound like if we run this formation we would have the same success except they have one of the greatest QB's to play the game making decisions not some rookie.

No rookie QB is going to spread out a defense like that, they'll just continue to send the pressure and make the rookie have zero time in his decision making. They would make him beat them with his arm trying to keep him in the pocket and his rookie 6'0 frame will get eaten up.

I guess teams like Auburn, Oklahoma, and North Carolina to mention a few, didn't have middle linebackers. I wonder how Baltimore's defense will do now that some changes have been made.

Your missing the point...the idea is to cause mis matches....against a defense. The Ravens had the advantage last season...11 on 10....not this year. Teams will not be able to stack the box...against the run...because you can throw. Teams weren't afraid of Ronnies arm. The Dolphins won't have to over load the O-line...so in not telling the defense which way the run may go...unlike last season....everyone knew the run was to the right side.

When it counted...White played big;

those articles are the reasons why i keep faith in the pat white pick...

i really didn't want to see him as a dolphin (anyone who watched my posts can recall that i wasn't a big fan)

but in the end, he's a dolphin now, and he is a huge weapon that we need to figure out. White might become the most electrifying football player since michael vick, and that's a bigtime bonus to the dolphins if this is what he ends up being

but i have some questions though... why draft a typical block first catch later TE like nalbone, when you've drafted pat white who actually is a athletic/speed type of player ?
if we trully are about to create an nfl spread offence, why draft the wrong players ? (aside from white)
why draft jake long, a tough SOB who's better at run blocking downhill, if you want to run zone schemes and a spread offence that relys purely on speed and athleticism ?
why resign carey, another typical downhill blocker ?
why trade satele who's a very reliable shotgun center and zone blocking center ?

it's paradoxal and confusing to me

Sorry but this ain't college football anymore, there's alot of gimmic offenses that are successfull there and are useless in the NFL.

I understand that it's about mismatches, but how do you think that P.White as a 6'0 rookie will drop back and tear up defenses like Baltimore. Believe me it's the first thing Baltimore will do is allow their excellent D-line and send pressure from the OLB while R.Lewis spies the middle and tell White to stay in the pocket and beat us with his arm. Good luck!

Why you guys think some rookie will excel at this is beyond me. Some set plays in the Wildcat will be his success but even against a team like Baltimore it's unlikely.

Well I guess we'll see....but I wouldn't bet against this kid....or the Dolphin coaches.
