My friend works for the Herald and told me what he saw at camp. He said Henne looks "big, comfortable, has a major arm". He said Pat White "looks very fast" and "moves fluid like OIL"... :bugeye:

I am not one of those fans that jumps at rookies, especially rookie qbs. I, like many of you, were mortified by our fruitless qb play over the past decade. I am just thankful that we are headed in the right direction. We have two solid guys, one of which will contribute immediately thanks to the wildcat. Last year, we had chad pennington at WR many times, and as much as I have grown to llike him, no body was afraid of 'Paddington Bear' at WR.

NOW, we will have Ricky and Ronnie working the point with Pat White and Ted Ginn going deep...................................

I can start to feel it.....

More Like Pat taking Ricky's place in the formation and pat at times taking Ronnies Place in the formation and Pat at times taking Chad P's place in the formation.

Gotta love the possibilities and with the way our Coaches like to run the offensive scheme he could line up just about anywhere.

I think one of the major keys with using Pat White in the 'cat effectively is whether he can run the ball in the NFL (without getting broken in two). If he can, then you'd like him to be the motion man - all three plays (Ronnie inside, handoff to White for an outside run, or handoff to White for a throw) are equally probable and all potentially very dangerous and if you're a linebacker on the other team, it's gonna make you think a bit....long enough for ANOTHER DOLPHIN TOUCHDOWN!

He weighs more then some NFL running backs do...so why would he break like a little girl?

Great Point! Pat White, being too small and fragile is an absolute fallacy.

He started his last WVU season at 6ft, 197lbs, finished the season at 182lbs. You gotta believe coaching is having him add just enough bulk and muscle without altering his mobility as we speak.

By comparison, a few RBs more or less off the top of my head:
Willie Parker: 5-10 209lbs
Sproles: 5ft6in 181lbs
Westbrook: 5ft10in 203lbs
Chris Johnson: 5ft11in 200lbs
Ray Rice: 5ft8in 205lbs

Compared to the above, Pat could be a tad shorter, more squat and heavier, but really, there's nothing about his stature that suggests when hit running or scrambling he's gonna break like a China Doll.

Geez thats top of your head? I would be lucky if I knew the weight of 1 dolphin on this team.

I think there are more positives then Negatives to Pat White and he will see the field quite often. The man to watch out for this year is Patrick Cobbs.

And plus, even Ginn has done just fine, and he actually IS a twig. He took a blindside hit from probably the biggest dude in the game ( Ngata ) and he got right back up. He also took a pretty hard hit in mid-air from .. well, I forgot how to say his name, I think its Kawika Mitchell from the Bills.

And you can't forget Warrick Dunn. I don't know if he's still playing or not, but the dude has been a runningback for 10 or so years, and he's 180 lbs.

Having watched Pat White his entire college career, I can honestly tell you the kid is real good at not giving up the big hit. Guys like him know how to get small and not allow the defender to tee off on them.

Oil is not very "fluid" at all. It really sucks at flowing.

I remember people saying the same thing about a guy named Reggie Bush, he has done nothing in the NFL except get cracked play after play in the NFL.

True, but Bush is more of a result of a suspect line and a lot of touches per game. We aren't going to ask Pat White to return kicks, punts, run screen routes, swing routes, wheel routes and carry the ball 20+ times a game. At best White is in 10-15 plays this year and if he runs you will see a slide before he gets his head ripped off.

he might have not dominated an entire season but he has his games and makes plays when used correctly he is a serious game breaker and if we get the same or about the same results out of pat id be more than happy

When we got Pat White I quickly said he would make a great installment to our Wild cat.. Then hearing about his struggles in ota's and mini-camps i started to get worried. I know it better to know about his small hands and how he is throwing the ball too high now, I just really hope he is ready when it comes time.
