That Vontae Davis and Sean Smith

Two physical rookies corner back ,both have there sight set on starting
as CB in NFL. Davis who has more experience playing CB position ,was
the second corner selected first corner back on the Miami Draft Board. At
5'11 and a quarter Davis is a tackles machines who loves to play bump and
run coverage.

When you stand in between 6"3 and 6'4 ,playing Corner back in the NFL is
not a option .Unless your Sean Smith who has the speed ,agility and strength to control receive, especial tall wide -outs
.

Could we be witnessing the rebirth of Madison and Surtain who was no doubt the best Corner back tandem in MIAMI DOLPHINS HISTORY.....
While everyone is so excited about the Wild-Pat ...We may be over looking
Two of the best prospects ,physical cover backs in MIAMI since the 70's

Def got a talent upgrade with these two. Vontae hits like a truck and Sean Smith is exactly what we need to defend the likes of TO and Moss.

Dont get so excited, although i am always 100 percent optimistic dont forget how jason allen turned out for us. i am a firm believer that the dolphins picked up a major upgrade this off season via the draft with our two new cb's but lets hope they transition to the nfl as easy as expected. They need to get the timing down as well as making the proper judgement. Allen had trouble with both of these. Lets hope the trifecta will work on these issues as soon as possible. What do you think?

i trust parcells evaluation of talent more than randy mueller's, i.e jason allen. i love vontae davis, although im not sure about sean smith, but at worse i think smith will make a good safety, not sure he can play corner.

looking more forword to what our defence has to offer than our o/fence,
lets hope they live up to all the hype.....

Agreed, with alittle time our secondary could be the scariest in the NFL. With Langford, Merling, Crowder and hopefully Wake we will have a great core to plug in some pieces here and there on defense.

Jason Allen had his moments...
But the Kid got hips like a Hippo...

Allen can play physical as well.
Ireland had stated Smith will play CB
IF Smith ,Davis ,Allen ,Wilson ,Bell all come together
and communication I don't see why we can be successful.

Try not to get too excited over our secondary guys. Remember the league designed the rules a few years ago so that the Defense always loses anyway.

Pat Surtain and Madison would be the most penalized CBs in the league if they were in their primes right now. They were physical beasts at CB, which the new QB/WR friendly rules don't allow.

Remember though, Jason Allen had a hip injury his last year in Tennessee.

He was taken as a safety.

And he's also, shall we say....a slow learner.

Lets not forget Clemons too, that kid might be as athletic as they come.

if sean smith does not work out in the secondary we could turn him into a wr, i think he played that in college

Maybe we should let them attend their very first NFL mini-camp before anointing them the next Madison/Surtain...?

I thought the same thing when I saw the two picks on day 1. Vontae will have a head start playing with W. Allen but ounce Will leaves Vontae moves to the #1 DB and Smith starts at the #2 DB spot. They will compliment each other and cause havoc for other teams. Smith can cover the taller WR and Vontae takes the quick one. Lets bring back the press coverage defense!

I can't wait to see these guys in action. Glad we drafted some corners now that Moss and TO are in our division.
