It has only been two days from selecting Pat White and the main board is already being taken over by Pat White threads. They are springing up one after the other and bombarding us all. At the rate we are going he is going to catch up to the infamy of Dauntee Culpepper in terms of post counts around here. Reading some of these posts, if someone had actually not watched the the draft, they would think he was a #1 draft prospect who magically fell 54 spots. I don't know much about this guy but I am rooting for him, but we hear and see less posts about all our other picks combined.

The reason I created this thread is because I foresee a backlash coming from all these "Pat White is the greatest and can play every position" threads. I appreciate everyones optimism about him, but soon people are going to grow tired of reading how he is going to dominate the league and have a big impact when he has not played in any games yet. People who bring this fact up will be called haters, and then the fun is going to begin. The great debates will be started about Pat White.

Is he going to take Henne's job?
Is he going to dominate the NFL?
Is Pat White the greatest rookie QB to come out of the draft in the last 25yrs?

A word to the wise to everyone, temper your enthusiasm before his name goes down in FinHeaven infamy, with such greats like John Beck, Chris Chambers, Ronnie Brown, and good old Dauntee Culpepper. LOL, who am I kidding this thread isnt going to do any good. Have fun tearing each other up to pieces. Welcome to FinHeaven and have a nice day.

Yes!!

It's a message board so people want to talk about the draft. It's just how it is.

I agree with that and I certainly don't want to discourage anyone from that. My intent is to difuse the hurricane that is approaching. People are already going overboard and it is going to get worse before it gets better.

My point exactly. I hope it will not degenerate into another debacle. I do think fairly soon we should get a pretty good idea if White is any good.
Unlike Scam Cam's handling of Beck, this coaching staff will prepare White for the role he plays.

Both Pat White (42 starts) and Chad Henne (47 starts) have more experience as a college quarterback than any of their peers. While this does not guarantee success, the historical trend predicts that both of them will succeed during their NFL careers. One of them will be the starting quarterback during the 2010 season, but I do not know whom will win. My guess is Chad Henne, but I will not be surprised if it is Pat White.

its always something, from fiedler to feeley, ronnie and ricky or the culpepper fiasco, we as a fan base cannot seem to live without some type of great divide.

Would you all rather put all of your eggs in Henne's basket?
Not have an insurance policy if he sucks?

Would you all want a QB to rise over competition?

You all are still in the Randy Mueller mentality to give a QB the job on a silver platter without having him to earn it.

Henne has nothing to worry about.
He needs to ball out in camp like he's been planning.

Pat White will be used for the Wildcat. If Henne is not the guy, Pat may have more responsibility.
That's it. Simple.

I hear you. I don't think it's possible. This is the same board that was excited and argued about AJ Feeley's arm strength and star potential lol.

What is cool is that we have 3 talented stud QBs now. The leader in Pennington, the upstart in Henne, and the playmaker in White. So it will be a lot of fun to watch.

If anything its gives us something to talk about till Training Camp, I just hate how some take a side of the issue and make it personal :).

Should be an interesting 8 weeks of forum posting/watching.

This training camp will be one of the more exciting Fins camps in recent memory. I can not wait. Damn, I have not said that in a long time.
