Throwing at his Pro Day Thursday, West Virginia QB Pat White reportedly looked "as poised and consistent" as he did at the Combine.
White concentrated on passing as opposed to route running, though there are differing reports on the latter. NFL.com's Steve Wyche reports that White ran a few routes upon request, but ProFootballTalks sources say he did not run routes. The latest buzz has White going in the second round as a "slash" type of player.

Updating a previous item, ProFootballTalk reports West Virginia coach Bill Stewart would not let QB Pat White run pass routes at his Pro Day.
White was reportedly "ready and willing" to run, and his agent had told teams that he would be catching passes on Thursday. It sounds like Stewart was trying to make a point, but the quarterback will indeed be running pass routes during individual team workouts.

I really would love White as our Wild Cat specialist, but seems like a needy QB team might draft him as a QB

We don't know if Chad Henne is the future or not. So, if Pat can come in and help Miami's wildcat for now. That is more than C. Henne is doing for Miami... Let them both compete for the future QB role. But also allow Pat to catch some balls as a WR or HB on passing downs while Penny is still the starting QB.

I would draft him with our 2 (b) pick in the second round. Then use our 1st on a CB & our top 2nd round pick on a NT or LB.

or

Trade down into round #2 from our 1st round pick. Then use 2 (b) or 2 (c) on him.

Either way Miami will need to draft a CB, NT & LB on day one. They might be able to get a NT in round 3...but we won't know that till almost all of round 2 is done picking.

If Miami had less holes to fill at CB & NT...it would be easy to pick him with a 2nd round pick. But Miami has some very serious holes with CB & NT. We still need to prepare for life without Pennington. Chad Henne is the man for the job as the roster is right now. But they will need a player to push him as well...plus you never know who gets hurt when...

I don't think Beck will be here after day 2 of the draft. He will be trade for a 5th or 6th round pick.

He has impressed so far as a QB in drill, senior bowl, Pro Day and the Combine. But I still don't think many teams are going to give him a shot at QB. At least full time starting QB. This is strictly due to his size.

I do think he is a "wildcat" specialist for some team, or an extra weapon for some trick plays. I just still think he is going to have to make the switch to WR if he wants to get on the field. Kind of like a Brad Smith. Used as a WR, did take a few snaps, and a few reverses.

I guess it will be interesting to see who takes a shot on him, and how they feel they can utilize him in their offense.

I would love Pat White for us, like FinMan said he can come in and contribute immediately. I think Parcells likes White remember he was the one who was behind signing UDFA Jayson Foyster a very similiar player like White. Beck is a bench warmer and the organization is dying to get rid of him White becomes a number 3 QB, a WR, A KR and PR and a Wildcat specialist.

I really hope he does not go to a team like the Jets, Bills or Pats.

ITs being reported no by Mayock of NFL Network that White stock might be dropping cause he chose no to run routes at his pro day.I really hope he is there at 3.

If he is there at 3 you gotta roll the dice and grab him. He could always run back kicks, throw it when we go to the Wildcat.....what I like is Pat White is also a lefty thrower like Ronnie Brown so when he runs left he has Jake Long there to give him all day to throw it or run it.

White needs to put a little bit of Muscle, he looks extremely thin to me.

Thank You Pat White for not running the route tree. Now we will get him in the 4th to 6th round area instead of the 2nd to 4th round area.
