It's usually not wise to rush to judgment before you've done the necessary research. That's what happened when I concluded the Miami Dolphins drafted Pat White earlier than they needed to on Saturday when they made him their first of two second-round picks.
As it turns out, most NFL teams had this University of West Virginia record-setter rated as a top 50 draft prospects no matter the position. And a couple of them had him targeted as their second round selection.
There's this perception out there - smokescreen or not - that the Patriots (owners of six dozen 2009 draft picks) were amongst them.
