Pat White

he wont drop to the 5th. Most people have him going late 2nd early 3rd.

He will drop if he continues to not run routes and only play QB. Mayock made a good point about him last night, no QB in the entire league is under 6'1, not one. So if White wants to strickly be a QB not only is his stock dropping but his chances of succeeding are very very small.

He is willing! it's Bill Stewart the WVU coach that wouldn't let him run routes! He'll play wherever he can get on the field and I hope we take him as high as our 2b pick!

I would'nt like to see Miami selecting him any higher than the 4th round.

Drew Brees is only 6'0

I know that's what they said but I seriously doubt he would tell Pat not to run WR routes if that's what he wanted to do. I have a feeling Pat White's agent said it would be in his best interest not to run routes seeing as how he would be extremely unpolished at that, and they blame it on Bill Stewart to look like he is not copping out.

Bill Parcells: "Pat, we don't want you to run any routes at your pro day because we are going to take you as a QB/WR/Wildcat."

Pat's agent: "Sounds good to us. Done deal. No route running."

If the 3rd round comes and he is still around, we will snag him unless the word is out that he will drop for the aforementioned. Dude can throw the ball with accuracy on the run or tuck it up and take it to the house. Thats what this guy brings.

No, he's just shy of 6'2. I know that doesn't sound like much but the fact remains no QB in the NFL is under 6'1, none.

I take it back everywhere I've looked stated he's 6'0, sorry about that I was lead to believe he was 6'1+.

I cannot see the Fins taking White before round 4, and consensus is that he will be gone by then. It is really easy for us to say "we could get rid of Beck" or "we could trade him", but to trade him you need a partner and to just cut him 2 years removed from him being a second round pick and what all of 5 NFL starts, why would you? Because White looked great in shorts and shirts? White is a talented athlete, and may turn into a very good QB in the NFL, but QB seems to be one of the few positions that for the first time in maybe a decade we don't need to address.
If he was there late, than yeah, take a shot, if not he is just a luxury that we cannot afford right now.

You don't spend a first day pick on a utility player that is going to see the majority of his snaps in a formation that is not our primary formation. White would be good in the wildcat, yes, but our first 4 picks will be spent on 1 or 2 impact players and depth. The second day is for luxuries.

I agree; however, I would wait even later for luxuries.

I just don't see us drafting Pat White...why would we draft a guy to come in and play maybe 10 plays, that way everybody knows what we are going to do as soon as he steps on the field. You just don't draft a guy who is unpolished in round 2 or 3 and hope he plays like bess, it doesn't work that way, waste of a draft pick that we could use to upgrade other positions. Also, what team picks a player to be third string that early.
