I was thinking about how Bill Parcells is reportedly in love with QB Pat White and his potential as a QB for the Wildcat and a KR/PR specialist. The fact that White is insistant on playing QB at only 6ft 197 lbs could work in Parcells favor in causing him to drop in teams' draft boards and enable MIA to land him in the 3rd or 4th round.
If they are able to convince Pat White to continue to insist to teams that he is a QB, we can find him still there at our pick in the 3rd or 4th round.
MIA can privately work him out at WR too. But the fact that John Beck is on the trading block sounds like Parcells is interested in White as a #3 QB that would be active along with Henne, but be primarily our KR/PR and come in during the Wildcat formations. White is very Mike Vick like. See the Senior Bowl...
Another point is how Clay Matthews was very impressive during the Senior Bowl week even bullrushing Michael Oher back during those one on one drills. If Matthews is the guy that Parcells wants at #25, this could mean that Matt Roth could become trade bait.
Could Roth be a player we use to trade up in the 2nd day when we need to in order to grab White or some other player we want, ala Shawn Murphy last April? Charlie Anderson played lights out in the last quarter of the season and is a great STs player.
With the addition of Cam Wake to possibly backup Joey Porter and the addition of Clay Matthews in the first round, with Charlie Anderson backing him up and playing STs...maybe Roth becomes trade bait.
I also like how Eric Wood had some some plays during the Senior Bowl where he mauled BJ Raji while playing RG and then looked like a stud when moved to C...could make him a potetial #57 pick candidate for MIA if he's still around.
I really think that a Clay Matthews, Louis Delmas, Eric Wood, and Pat White could very possibly be our first 4 draft picks this April.
