I was thinking about how Bill Parcells is reportedly in love with QB Pat White and his potential as a QB for the Wildcat and a KR/PR specialist. The fact that White is insistant on playing QB at only 6ft 197 lbs could work in Parcells favor in causing him to drop in teams' draft boards and enable MIA to land him in the 3rd or 4th round.

If they are able to convince Pat White to continue to insist to teams that he is a QB, we can find him still there at our pick in the 3rd or 4th round.

MIA can privately work him out at WR too. But the fact that John Beck is on the trading block sounds like Parcells is interested in White as a #3 QB that would be active along with Henne, but be primarily our KR/PR and come in during the Wildcat formations. White is very Mike Vick like. See the Senior Bowl...

Another point is how Clay Matthews was very impressive during the Senior Bowl week even bullrushing Michael Oher back during those one on one drills. If Matthews is the guy that Parcells wants at #25, this could mean that Matt Roth could become trade bait.

Could Roth be a player we use to trade up in the 2nd day when we need to in order to grab White or some other player we want, ala Shawn Murphy last April? Charlie Anderson played lights out in the last quarter of the season and is a great STs player.

With the addition of Cam Wake to possibly backup Joey Porter and the addition of Clay Matthews in the first round, with Charlie Anderson backing him up and playing STs...maybe Roth becomes trade bait.

I also like how Eric Wood had some some plays during the Senior Bowl where he mauled BJ Raji while playing RG and then looked like a stud when moved to C...could make him a potetial #57 pick candidate for MIA if he's still around.

I really think that a Clay Matthews, Louis Delmas, Eric Wood, and Pat White could very possibly be our first 4 draft picks this April.

He said he will insist on playing QB till someone tells him NO! My guess is "if" we draft White and "if" he makes the filed linning upo behind center, the only way it will happen is in the Wildcat or some other College formation for us, imo.

if white is telling people that he wont change from qb, then i dont think he will get drafted. hes a terrible passer. he wont win you any games with his arm. hes not a pro qb.if you took away his legs he isnt even good enough to be a d1 college qb.

Watch the Senior Bowl. Mike Mayock and Charles Davis made sure everyone knew how much a talent Pat White is.

He threw for a TD and led for two other TD drives. He's a terrific passer. He would be the perfect Wildcat specialist player and our Offense would be all the more dynamic.

are you suggesting that if White said he would be OK with WR, he would be a 2nd round pick or higher?

also, are you suggesting that we secretly have Pat White OK with playing WR, but tell everyone else he only wants to play QB so he will fall to us?

This wouldn't work. The moment the 3rd QB comes into a game, the starter and primary back up can't come back in the game. Sparano would have to be comfy enough with him to play an entire game since he would have to be the 2nd QB in your scenario. Besides, sending him out on Wildcat plays alone would give away the fact that we're running a Wildcat play. Even more than that, why would Parcells make it known who he wants? Sounds like a whole lot of speculation on your end....

they would list him at WR and he would be the emergency QB, so it would work. although i agree with everything else you said

There's no way Pat is stupid enough to cause himself to fall to the 3rd or 4th round intentionally. Every pick that he is not selected is money lost for him.

I have a feeling Clay Matthews would play ILB for us. I still say we go after Carpenter in the offseason.

don't want this guy.

especially don't want to waste a pick on a wildcat specialist. let alone a 2b like somebody reported.

don't really want to waste a 4th rounder on a wildcat specialist to tell you the absolute truth.
