This guy is going to impress you guys if he gets his chance to shine!! Just thought that I'd put it out there. :cooldude:

I think he has the most speed out of all of our runningbacks and can hit the homerun if he gets the chance. I do think though that Morris is going to have a good game on sunday. He may have a fumble but he hits the hole with authority whenever he runs and with him and minor splitting carries he going to be fresh by the 4th quarter.

I know the Pat fans were impressed with him. They didn't seem happy to hear he had been signed to the fins practice squad. I would like to see what he can do.

I'm looking forward to seeing him play, but he's probably the slowest of our running backs now.

It's really a move that kind of suprises me though.

I guess I'm assuming that when Ronnie comes back, we're still keeping Morris and Minor for special teams. If we release him to try to get him back to the practice squad, I wouldn't be suprised if another team picks him up and we lose him (a la Berger).

We need to do something about our depth at RB. I don't think Sammy or Travis are the answer, however Sammy can lay the wood on ST's. I would venture to guess if anyone has to go, it would be Minor, he's been hanging on by a thread the last few seasons and I think it's time to move on with him. I don't know if Cobbs can play ST's but he better or he will not be a part of this team for long, unless he plays lights out in the running game. I wish Ricky could come back and return this team to a powerhouse backfield, but I think those days are in the past with him, so I think Saban needs to address the running game again.

minor is also a very good special teamer. He doesnt get noticed but he still is making plays. That will always get favor with Saban and his attitude is good considering he doesnt play on offense much.

I am interested to see what cobb can do.

Right, but you can't keep everyone. My guess would be if Cobbs plays well he will stay and Minor will go.

There's a reason Cobbs didn't get drafted: small (205) & 40 times are slow (4.6). But he has great running instincts and good quickness & balance. Minor's straight line speed (4.4) is a REAL asset on ST. I would get Cobbs into the mix ASAP to see if he's worth personnel changes. With running backs, you should be able to get a "feel" fairly quickly.

I just wish we had a big strong between the tackles runner on the roster other than Ronnie.

I'd actually be surprised if Cobbs gets a carry against the Jags. I think he's on the roster to play special teams and as injury insurance.
