Can someone please explain to me how we ended up being so much under the salery cap.All during the off season we said we have to trade Pat cause we wouldn't have the money to sign our draft picks(and I agreed with that).Heck not only did we sign all of our picks we signed a lot of FA's(most to 1 yr. deals). I thought it was the reason why we had to trade PS.:confused2 Seems like we could've kept him to me. If I'm overlooking something please explain.
 
We were 3mil under the cap when the season started, I think we are now 1.2mil under the cap since we traded Feeley. Pat wanted a huge signing bonus and a whole lot of money on top of it. Saban wants to get HIS guys in here, you can't do that when a few players have a stranglehold on your cap.

Pat is getting older, and there are definately two different Surtains that show up on Sunday.

I miss him too, but we are better off now as far as money reasons.
 
Yes, I'm wishing we still had Patrick Surtain, but I am not wishing we had his seven-year contract worth $50.8 million, with $14 million in guarenteed money.
 
Yeah you guys all bring up good points,I guess I'm just still pi$$ed about our secondary getting toasted last night.:mad: Also forgot about still missing Poole.

Do you know whats up with Poole? I read that he's been cleared to run. Does that mean he'll be back this season?
 
Mitchell is more likely to be back.

But - I know NOTHING about him other than he is quick as hell ( 4.3 40? ) and a good returner. But how is he in coverage??

I read that too, I thought he was on IR don't know if he's able to play this season.We sure could use him.
