Check out the interview with Patrick Turner on Miamidolphins.com. Turner comments that he has learned alot from the veteran recievers and even first year reciever David Bess. After realizing that he may have gotten the wrong name he calls him D. Bess, haha. Anyone else find it strange that he doesnt even know the name of the biggest breakout reciever from last year?

Not so strange. He obviously doesn't use 'Davone' when speaking with him or about him and certainly has a great deal on his mind. Also, most people are very nervous speaking in public which increases the likelihood of mistakes.

Yeah, I can tell he's not really the type of guy that finds speaking on camera a breeze. I'm the same way, I mix my words up and repeat things a lot  I'm sure he doesn't say " you know " 100 times in regular conversation either..

To be honest, I don't mind rookies calling Davone D'bess. He's Da Bess mayne, he deeeed it.

Never say 'you know' when speaking with others. Subconsciously begging for affirmation reeks of insecurity and is interpreted as weak and pathetic even if your audience can't articulate why. The negative feedback, however subtle, only serves to amplify the condition.
It never ceases to amaze me how simple empowering techniques are ignored by institutions of supposed learning.

While what you said there was a little beyond my comprehension, I got what you're saying  I never say it myself, because I find it annoying when people say it a lot to ME. I've always wanted to just stop them mid sentence and say " no.. I don't know. "

I've noticed another trend with Miami players, .. "obviously". They say obviously a lot. At least "David" Bess and Ronnie do. Every time they do an interview I pay attention to how many times they say obviously

good grief, lets analyze every word that comes out of an athletes mouth, some of you need to go Read a book, find a hobby, make woopy to a wife or GF, do something besides
worry about everything these guys say or do that doesnt seem perfect to you.

To oversimplify, using 'obviously' is usually either an insult to the interviewers questions unoriginality or the apologetic frustration for one's communicative abilities.

Why aren't you off doing those things instead of exaggerating & worrying about us worrying?

"Respect was Earned in 08', watch out Cheatriots, Jills, Little Airplanes, and the rest of the NFL, the Miami Dolphins are Back !!!!!!"

Interesting signature. Maybe you need to go look at it's hypocrisy?!

Lol. We're just having conversation man. If that bothers you, then maybe you need to follow your own advice..

And it's probably the latter, I know Ronnie and Davone wouldn't try to be insulting them. I guess it's just a habit of theirs. Ah well.. people have completely different uses of speech when that camera turns on. Anyways, on topic with Patrick Turner.. I'm glad he's taking in the information from the other guys, even if he can't remember some of their names :chuckle:

Kind of nice to have a receiver that is taller than 6'3 that isn't constantly stressing how he's the best looking guy in the world, and that he's the best player in the NFL.
