A lot of people wanted Miami to take Ramses Barden and not Patrick Turner word out of Giants camp is Barden off the line of scrimage his
first step of the line is slow he might be another Ernest Wilford I was
glad when the Giants traded up to get Barden I didn't want miami to
draft him. Patrick Turner looks like he might start for miami while
Barden is a project.:hclap:

definately like Turner much better than Barden although Nicks will be better than both

Pre draft that would have been an easy question for most DolFans. After looking at Turner's production in college (last year especially) I really dont know why so many draft experts rated Turner where they did and panned the pick. His numbers in college improved every year and he is big and athletic. I know it is real early, but it seems that Turner is catching everything in sight. Cant wait til the season starts.

Turner will be the guy that Pennington will look to when Ginn is covered, particularly in the red zone cus if this guy is running routes and catching everything, then the trust will be built.

PT over Barden for sure. There was way too much made by Kiper and co. with our pick when not at all comparing the two since they were selected in the same spots. I think we scouted this guy and this was our guy, thats why I am confident, particularly after OTA reports, that we scored here....Hartline too...Camarillo clone I hear.

I heared that USC changed there Offense to hit the RB's more in the passing game which caused production for Turner to slip. Other than that, I cannot see why he is considered a bust other than big things were expected of him as a freshman.

A 4th round pick? Take it a love it.

Does this mean we've decided because of some OTA's how someone's career is? Let's atleast let them play the some real football first.

you never know...predictions are easy to make in the preseason, but we won't be able to really tell until the season starts...however I think and hope we got a steal in P. Turner!

Turner seems like a prefect guy for this system big and just plain catches the ball. He isnt fast but we have fast guys i think so many people are quick to judge him with all the other loser wideouts coming out of USC that isnt him he actually seems to have a wonderful work ethic and wants to succeed and doesnt think its a given right like the others.

He will be a plesent suprise he will be like Bess last year early in the season he will be here and there only in on specfic plays but by the end of the season he will see a ton of the field.

The league has so many 'busts' because many people don't understand that players coming into the pro's are just prospects. Many assume that some projected in the first two rounds have already arrived - because they must have done something warrant that status. As prospects GM's, coaches, and fans can only try to project a given player's skill set (this would include ability to learn, etc.). As a prospect, I don't rate Nicks much higher than Turner.

I had a conversation with someone on this site who wanted Nicks instead of Davis. He felt the gulf between Nicks and Turner was just as large as the gulf between Davis and CB's available in the mid-to-late 3rd Round. Turner still has a lot to prove, but I have high hopes for him.

I personally think Turner can be that big boided WR to compliment Ginn & Bess...Ginn, Turner, Bess, London, Camirillo..i think is going to be our starting WRs going into the year IMO

The USC WR issue is overblown. K. Johnson shouldn't have been selected with the 1st pick, but if you get beyond that, he had a handful of very good seasons. M. Williams shouldn't count. He had an entire year off between college and the NFL - not to mention a terrible work ethic. If Williams worked as hard as Turner seems to and he didn't miss that year of football and if he didn't end up with the Lions, I think he could have been a good player. It's still early for Jarrett, but he seems to be the only legitimate bust in the group.
