on the possible Wes Welker trade.

How do you Patriots fans feel about it?

Adam Schefter is reporting that the offer sheet that the Patriots and Wes Welker will sign is a deal worth $38.5 million over 7 years. That averages out to $5.5 million per year. That's an insane amount of money for a receiver who is just 5'9" and has just 96 career receptions and just one career touchdown. It'll be interesting to see if the Dolphins match the offer or if they will take New England's 2nd round pick (#60 overall) instead.

I will tell the Patriots fans who may not know Wes, your getting a guy with alot of heart.

Also, the Pats have signed Former Dolphin Running back Sammy Morris

“Sammy Morris is a good all-around running back. From his years in the division, we have first-hand knowledge of all his skills; running, receiving, blocking and several roles on special teams."

And the big news...

According to the NFL Network, the Patriots signed Adalius Thomas to a five-year, $37.5 million contract that includes $24 million in the first three years.

i think a second rounder is to much to give up but the pats have 12 picks including two first rounders so i like it and i like welker alot.he was a royal pain in the *** when he played against the patriots last year .hes a proven receiver who can go over the middle and hold on to the ball .the pats cant afford to pick a receiver high in the draft they need a guy they know can get the job done .

he is a great fit for the Pats offense, he will hurt us everytime we play him. but for a 2nd rounder we have to let him go, it's so lopsided it's not funny. but on the Pats side I see it because they have so many picks and few needs

Well the money is not what should be worried about. The contract is very much backloaded, meaning all the big money comes at the latter part of the contract. Unless Welker does some amazing things up here he wont see the big bucks that are in the last years of the contract.

The 2nd round draft pick is really what the debate is about. Worth it or not?

I liked the Morris signing obviously as well as the Thomas one.

I think this would be a great move for both sides. Brady needs WR's, badly. With Welker he'd be getting a tough-nosed dependable guy who may not make huge plays but will move the chains. The Pats don't really need the pick, and they can afford it.

Meanwhile, we need picks desperately, but is anyone that upset over losing Welker? I'll miss the guy that's for damn sure, but he is what he is, a consistent yet never great player. His KO returns almost always get you to the 25-30 yet seldom farther, his punt returns are seeminly fair catched most of the time. For a 2nd, with the team being where we are right now, I like it.

Can you say overpayment?
There's no chance in hell we'll resign him, thats simply too much money for a No. 3 WR.
But hey I'll take a second for him, I wish him the best of luck.

You guys also overpayed for Sammy Morris.

Nice job snatching up AT.

a win-win imo, you guys are getting a very dedicated player.. one of the best work ethics the whole time he was with us. I think you guys will use him properly and once Brady finds him, all hell will break loose. like larry izzo, he will be missed

FACT: This guy brings it every game, almost never drops the ball, can take a wicked hit...and gets up every time. We'll miss 'em.The "Pats" paid out a pretty good contract, but he's as dedicated as it gets...

Thats factual, Welker is one tough sob. Miami fans are in love with the guy, and i have a feeling the Pats would like him even more, unless he doesn't perform up to his contract. I was just trying to get a pulse on the Pats fans reaction, along with the other AFC east teams...

Welker will fit into the Patriots gameplan just fine. It may take him some time to get adjusted to playing alongside some of the NFL's most elite and recognizable players, but once he gets the taste of winning, he will just want more. This guy is hungry and he is now on a team in which he can flourish.

Are you a Patriots fan? I thought he was asking the opinion of Patriots fans.

If your just going to be rude head back to a Patriots site. Unless you have nothing better to do than browse rival message boards.

You don't seem to take offense to any of the other Dolphin fan posts in here, so you must just be unhappy he doesn't have the same opinion as you. This is a Dolphin website afterall.

anyone is welcome and entitled to put in there own opinion, Pats fans being the main focus but other teams fans are just as welcome to comment. Id also like to hear from a 3rd party team such as the Bills or Jets fans perspectives.
