Patriots MNF is it a must win

in my opinion it IS a must win game. At the very least to set the pace for the rest of the year. To put this team on the right track from the get go and not after we are half way through the season at .500

I'm wondering if the crew on MNF will mention that the Phins owner traveled to the West coast to shop for a replacement head coach before the last game.
When he was brushed off he said he wasn't interviewing a replacement. = The Phins have a strange owner that can't be trusted

It's a must win from the sales perspective.

Get killed on monday night and that next week for sure will be blacked out.

It should read '16-1 We lost the big one' right?

actually 18-1 genius. Still better than living off "Perfectville" for the past 39 years. Amazed to see it in so many sigs and avatars...really dolphin fans? I'd expect that from the Jest idiots at JI.

Nah the Jets don't have the history to boast about. And its all we have, which no one else does. Whats 39 years to 5 years? We're all past champions.

Also if we have any reason to win this game its because:

1) We are pissed about being 1-7 at home
2) Its the Patriots
3) Its MNF
4) New Offense
5) A angry, dedicated reggie bush
*********6) maybe a new Chad Henne

We need all of these things to come together to win. Our defense is pretty damn good but if we can't get consistent pressure, we are going to be toasted on PA by the TEs, welker and woodhead on screens, and ocho on some deep outs or in routes.

Even if our defense looks mediocre against an elite QB and offense, we have to hope our offense can score with them. I think our defense is strong enough to hold a team like the Pats to under 30 points, which is what I think we might have to score to win. 31-28 type of deal. We move the ball fine against the pats, and hopefully even more so this season, but henne throwing for a TD on a 3rd down within the redzone against being sacked or incomplete, is the difference between winning and losing these games. I can't see us shutting the pats down to say 14-17 points, our defense is good but will look better against other teams, especially early. This game for me is on the offense. Not a must win, but for morale of the team and fanbase it might be. Texans will beat up on the Colts without Manning so if we lose this one, its going to look real tough week 2.

Honestly getting Rosario, who has proven over his career to be a nice seam TE, as close to ready as possible for the game is huge. Outside of Jerod Mayo, the Pats LBs are not great in coverage. So I expect Rosario, Fasano, and Bush to all be heavily involved. I guess Sergio Brown has looked good in camp for the Pats, but the Sergio I remember from Notre Dame really struggled in coverage as well.

don't see this as a must win personally.

if so, the team is going to need to put up some points sinced the pats have averaged over 30 on us the past 3 years.

You became a Pats fan in 2001, didn't you?

I hardly saw ANY Pats fans even here in California before 2001. Now, as soon as they cheat their way to a few Super Bowl wins, they start coming out of the woodwork. Amazing stuff.

Saints went 7-9 in 2007, and 8-8 in 2008 before going 13-3 and winning the Super Bowl in 2009. Now we don't have Brees, but this is still a team game (as evidenced by the Saints going 7-9 and 8-8 with Brees), so if Henne can be Eli Manning type solid and the rest of the team stays healthy they have enough great players especially on defense that the Dolphins can be a playoff team. (Giants also went 8-8 a year before beating the Pats in the Super Bowl. Ravens never finished above .500 and then won the Super Bowl in 2000...there are plenty of examples. Things can change quickly)

Some fans are writing the team off before the season even starts. Let's see what happens, they may collapse and win 6 games, but they also have the potential to win 10 or 11 games. Let's see what happens since we're all 0-0 right now?

It's one of the only unique records in Pro Sports. Only one pro sports franchise has had a Perfect Season. So why not? Who cares if I wasn't alive for it...it's still damn sweet that it happened and the Dolphins were the only ones to accomplish it.

You're a red-haired freckled kid, aren't you?

It's not a must win, but if we get blown out again, the stadium will be empty all season.

Yes, its a must win in my book, we're playing at home and we control this game and we send the Patriots home 0-1.

Change has to start somewhere, and we need to control the AFC East ...... !!!!!

d-1
