Patriots' staff sizes up Fins

I am really excited to find out if Henne truly has improved, and this game will help answer that question. Chad Henne QB rating was 13 points higher than any preseason before. He looked decisive, he moved in the pocket, and he quickly delivered the ball to an open receiver.

I'm not going to base my opinion on solely the first game, it will be thte hardest game he has all year, I'll base my opinion as the season develops,

Remember brees started his 3rd year as a starter atrociously but by thhe end of the year he proved he was the starter, we'll see what henne does

Kicking game does include improving multiple blown return coverages as well as having every attempt blocked and returned for a touchdown. Remember the night game last year? Without several disasters in the special teams department that would have been a lot closer game.

You guys want to hate on what Bill says but he's right, this IS our best chance to win. They don't know what we will do, they have to do too much guessing to game plan against our new offense. If our offense clicks, Monday Night will be very interesting and potentially one of the best games of the year. A lot of if's though, our offense is still new and things can look ugly as well. And who knows how Henne will look in a real game, I'm not very confident about him. Can't wait though.

Wow, touched a nerve there? Lol

He is talking about how tough it will be because he doesn't know what they will do beforehand, ironic no?

BB has been very successful in the last ten years, no doubt.

But the fact is he Never won it before video-taping, hasn't won it since he was caught

Again, its the first game. He doesnt have gametape of them yet...you do realize having gametape isnt against the rules? I hope you realize the basics of that.

The bottom is such a piss poor argument. The Pats have 3 players from their last SB victory, they have a completely different team. Pats went to a SB POST spygate and were a fluke catch away from another title. They just went 14-2 in another season post spygate. You're allowed to tape signals, BB did it in the wrong location and got nabbed for it. To say 'cheating' helped him win his 3 titles is beyond ignorant. The man also won 2 titles with the Giants when he was the D Cord to that monster defense.

"-- we just don’t which ones they’ll do or which ones they’ll feature. From a game plan standpoint, that’s difficult."
Sounds like maybe last year they knew what we were going to do andwhen we were going to do it.

Not very difficult from Henning's 2 page offensive playbook, of which only half a page was dedicated to actual plays, and 1 1/2 pages was explanations why each play was as amazing now as it was years ago after coming back to football from WW1 as a senior officer.

According to the media, we don't even stand a chance. Let's just give up the season and avoid the embarrassment. :rolleyes2:

I just find it funny that the guy that was caught cheating to know what the opponent was going to do, is lamenting the fact that he doesn't know what the Dolphins are going to do.

I understand if you don't find that funny

and you may not like it but people are always going to look at those 3 superbowl wins like they look at Barry Bonds' home runs

Belichick and his boy O'Brien are masters of the art of saying something without really saying anything at all.

The only chink in the armor I found was about Cameron Wake and moving him all over the place. What he said sounds nice but I don't know if it's accurate. I've found Cameron's usage actually to be a bit formulaic, owing to the fact that when push comes to shove his most comfortable side is the left side of the defense, and his most comfortable position is with his hands in the dirt. Last year they used to have this weird sort of thing where Koa Misi and Cam Wake would be strong side/weak side on regular downs and then right side/left side on pass rush downs. This preseason more and more it seems like they've been trying the idea of Cam Wake being always on the left side even on regular downs, and Koa Misi always on the right side...kind of like Pittsburgh with James Harrison and Lamarr Woodley. San Fran did the same last year as well. That approach would be even more formulaic.

So I wonder if O'Brien is kind of trying to snooker the Dolphins into being OK with using Wake more formulaically like that, since O'Brien's statements show that they're preparing for Wake to be moved all over the place. If you know a defense is preparing one way then all things being equal you'd rather not do things the way they're preparing for. Except in this case there's a halfway decent chance the Patriots actually are preparing for Miami's formulaic approach with Cam Wake, they don't want Miami to move him around in Monster Man fashion, and they're just trying to get the Dolphins to do it the way they want it.

They don't want us to think that they know that we know they know. Simple really. Game of chess.
