The patriots are going to be fined and so does the colts for being over the salary cap every year and restructing the numbers to add things up .

In march Payroll should be equal to Salary Cap numbers, even though they show themself to be below salary cap the payroll is actually higher .
so in 07 they will have less cap roon due to this according to the new cba.

Got any links?

FROM BOSTON GLOBE FROM REISIS .

And as for the millions in cap space, I've been doing some research on this area and believe I've uncovered some interesting information in regards to the team's cap spending that sheds a little bit of a different light on things. Because the team had such high cash spending the previous two years -- with the top-level Tom Brady and Richard Seymour deals leading the way -- the Patriots project to be one of a handful of teams who will actually be penalized by the league as part of the new CBA, and I believe will lose some cap space in a future season (possibly 2007) because of that. The Colts are also part of the small handful of teams who I think will be penalized; it's sort of like the luxury tax in baseball. I believe the Patriots would do a service to their fans by explaining this intricacy of the salary cap -- assuming I have it correct -- because I sense there is a perception out there that the team is not spending compared to other teams. In actuality, they've spent to a level that is actually going to penalize them.

So who will they get rid of?
Next year instead of a 20 million space they are going to have a lower cap space. Also ,with 10 draft picks along with 2 late first rounders i think they have more rookies then needed so some older veterans and late round rookies will see the door .

You posted this like it came down from the league office. Mike Reiss is a globe reporter thats purely speculating. He's hardly a cap guru. Till the league tells us so this is merely a guess.

The Pats should be kicked out of the NFL and forced to play Australian rules football.

Anything to give your team a chance huh?

About this report it may turn out to be true and it may not. Like I said Mike Reiss is a Boston Globe reporter not a cap guru. I have to believe the Belichick and Pioli know the Cap rules better than Mike Reiss so until i hear it from the league itself I'll file is under BS. :D

one of the main reason for the sucess of the NFL is the salary cap. any mention of a luxury tax just pisses me off.

but the nfl doesnt care. these teams will get a slap on the wrist, and noone will even remember this.

if the broncos can completly lie about their cap numbers, win superbowls, and only be forced to lose one draft pick several years later... **** like this will always happen.

first the "warning" about sending people to tape an opposing teams signals, and now this. god i hate the patriots.

a few weeks back when the fins destroyed the pats after stealing their signals, everyone was talking about stealing signals, the pats, ect...

it came out that the NFL had warned the pats (with a fine) after catching one of their guys on the sidelines holding a mic for the purpose of recording the qbs calls under center.

Another Rumor started by the great GM (presently unemployed from the texans) Cassily working on espn I believe. Belichick satated the pats have received no such warning from the league office. Of couse you only heard Casserly's story and then decided to spread around an unconfirmed rumor started by a bitter unemployed GM. Its a know fact the Casserly hates Belichick and I think after this the same can be said about Belichick's feelings of Casserly.

Also if you look back the only ones crying about stealing signals or snap counts were the press. Brady even stated he didn't believe the dolphins knew the signals. That game was so over played is not even funny. as well as miami played it was more of a benefit that the pats "o" line stunk the place up. Those combinations of events are why we got skunked that day not some bogus stolen signals by the dolphins accusation.

And Belichek was going to admit it? The man cheated on his wife with another married woman. He has no dignity in his life whatsoever.

Well why would I believe Casserly over Belichick and the even bigger question is why would I believe you. Tell me where is the league on this? Do you know? Why is it you pats hating fins fans always assume Belichick lied or covered something up? When you get some real undisputable facts let me know until then its all BS. Same goes for the cheating with another mans wife. Never mind repeating rumor and gossip about things that aren't known facts and you'll be be better off.
