The Pat's came with a good game plan. They came out in shotgun all game with 4-5 WR. This forced us into nickle. In order to keep our best player on the field (Porter) we put him as a rush DE. This helped them a ton becasue it is a clear thing.
1 you knew where porter was on every snap
2. you knew for the most part that he was rushing.

They new this and this took away some of Portes advantage when playing 3-4 OLB.

In addition we did GOOD job with pressing Pat's WR and playing man coverage. Moss had some great catches and other then the fade to the end zone we had great coverage on him and the other WR. Moss just made some GREAT cathces.

A lot of people are saying cut this guy and cut that guy. Honestly I think the secondary is pretty darn good and I trust us playing man coverage against anybody after watching that game.

Bottom line here is we have a good team. We are still in the hunt for a playoff chance and it can happen. We just ran into a team that is getting hot and made a few extra plays down in the 4th that we did not make.

Bring on STL and lets get back to winning.....:woot:

nice post big fish. i agree with the plan from new england, they dictated our packages and attacked all day. they knew the personell and forced us into having those packages on the field, we never stopped them. why would they change from what was obviously working. the pats are good and they created and executed an excellent game plan. we better figure out how to stop thos e 3,4, and 5 wide sets cause we will see them every week til we do. we need pressure from the dl and some better play from the secondary. i am not saying either played poorly, really the dl was in cassel's face all day and knocked him down numerous times just a split second late, and we did get a pick from our secondary. they played ok, but they can play better. i'm not down on the team overall, special teams was good, offense was really good, we hung with a very good squad. i am disapointed in the final 9 minutes when it all went to crap, that was a meltdown. this team is growing and this game should be a huge positive step/learning expirience. evaluate, learn, move on

Really? Get real man.

Moss= 8 catches, 125 yards, 3 tds
Welker= 8 catches for 120 yards
Gaffney= 5 catches 88 yards

YES REALLY

Welker take away the 1 catch where the dB fell and he has 7 catches for approx 50 yards

Gaffney 5 for 88 not bad

Moss is just Moss. But like I said Moss made a few GREAT catches. He is a Hall Of Fame WR. You play that kid of coverage on anybody else and they WON'T have that kind of production.

Playing man coverage on Moss is a mistake man. Nobody has done it all year so what make you think your D can? You're asking too much of your corner leaving him alone with Moss.

I agree with you. But we tried it and like I said we had pretty tight coverage on him just made some great catches. It that was anybody else it don't happen.

I counted about 53 plays they ran out of shotgun

I'd swap the pats corners for the Fins corners, at least O'Neal for allen.

The Pats are a great team whether we like it or not. Bill and crew came prepared, they have more talent than we do at many positions, and they demostrated that yesterday.

I'm not going to cry about it, they beat us fair and square. We were in it for about 3 quarters, but eventually they made our D completely break down. Chad Pennington also contributed with a very critical interception.

The Pat's came with a good game plan.

I couldn't tell... The 48-28 victory didn't stick out enough. :rolleyes2:

I'm still real mad the fins lost... I hate the pats. Can the fins PLEASE win the majority of their home games......

we couldn't possibly beat them... empty sets and 4wrs set forces us to use guys like tyrone culver, something something (#33) against guys like welker, moss, gaffney, kevin faulk, etc etc... very good game plan, look for the rams to do just the same

** i don't really dislike those two guys but let's face it, the patriot's wr crew > dolphins secondary, and by far

Good Job big fish.......It was a great plan against our D.......we outcoached them in the first game and they got us yesterday.....I hope we see them again this yr. if not this rivalary just got racked a knotch
