Solder only struggles against speed because he's really tall and plays too tall. But he's more than athletic enough to deal with speed once he gets seasoning. His real weakness, in my view, is against strength. He doesn't play with a great base and has a weak and undeveloped core. When you combine this with the fact that he plays too tall, he's really susceptible to being rocked back by leverage players. Fortunately for us, Wake has a great bullrush and in other great news (for us) that's also Misi's best pass rush move and the last good one Jason Taylor has left in the tank. Three guys with good bullrushes you can send out against a 6'8 tackle who plays with poor leverage? Sign me up for that.
It's a good matchup for us, it really is. Good enough it will force the Patriots into predictable pass protection schemes (limiting the effectiveness of a player like Gronkowski, for example, who'll be called in to block on pass plays more often, or forcing a player with limited upside as a pass receiver but who's a better blocker like Green-Ellis into the game, tipping us off and keeping their better pass receiving backs on the bench) which we should be able to exploit with overload blitzes to the opposite side.
(I'm working on a "keys to the game" type thread where I'll go more into all of this).
