Pats Rookie OT Solder to start?

yeah i imagine the pats will leave matt light on an island on the left side and let him go against misi and jason taylor one on one...i think light will win those matchups...i really like wake's chances against solder but like magoo said i i expect a lot of help from gronkowski and the protection to be rolled to the right side...

if i'm belichick i like the odds that light can handle taylor or misi one on one and i'm gonna do whatever possible to ensure cam wake doesn't beat me...

I'm not so sure I dont match Wake up on Light and Misi/Taylor on Solder. From what little Ive read on the Pats this pre-season, Light has reportedly (according to Pat fans on their site) had his hands full dealing with speed. If this is true, Im not so sure I dont let Wake give Light fits with his edge rushing and let Misi bullrush the piss out of Solder. Either way, Wake is going to have a field day. I just hope they dont let the Pats get away with holding the crap out of Wake. Be nice for Odrick, Starks, McDaniel, Misi, Taylor, Burnett, Dansby to apply some pressure as well.
 
On passing downs, I would match up Taylor on Solder and Wake vs. Light. I wonder who they would double team.

They'd have to go with 22 personnel. But that lets the Phins blitz eight and triple cover whoever goes down field. The more I think about this, the more I think Nolan is going to be determined to put the shoe on the other foot after last season.

wakes got a 3 way go with solder...cause solder is so long (too long at 6 ft 8 if you ask me to play a high end tackle) he plays too high...wake can use him a variety of ways...bull rush outside speed rush and when solder tries to compensate for the outside speed rush by overextending himself on his initial step rip back inside...i think wake would use solder like a wet napkin...

you put jason taylor who can't defeat guys with anything really any more or misi who would allow solder to just sit on the bull rush (which every tackle should have been doing from the jump last year given it was his only pass rush move at utah and nothings changed since he got here) on solder and imo you are doing the pats a favor...matt light has traditionally played pretty well against us through the years and he's a seasoned vet...i think he will fare much better against wake than solder will right now at least...

taylor and misi aren't gonna beat anyone might as well rush them against the better tackle light...you want to get pass rush from them overload blitz on the left side and give taylor clean looks to the ball...thats the one thing he can still do...if he's clean he can track the ball and make plays

i'm going into that game if i'm miami trying my damnest initially at least to rush my premium edge rusher against the green horn tackle...should they continuously line up the te on wakes side to help solder then maybe i start to consider switching it up as the game goes on...but initially i'm telling cam wake to hunt on the right side

I expect Solder to do a lot of holding..hopefully the referees have not been compensated in advance.
 
i could see wake getting maybe 2 sacks.

didn't JT sack brady last year that caused a fumble and was recovered by the defense?

I think JT and Wake have big nights
Bush gets 7 receptions couple of them big gainers
ochocinco gets covered like spandex on a 300 pounder
sparano fist pumps for 3 hours straight after the game
Larry Johnson looks 25
one of our linebackers picks off brady
 
Brady gets the ball out quickly. I think our LB's need to be on top of the short passes, and quick hits. And we have to get to him very fast. If not for sacks, at least get him to hurry and be in his face all day. Disruption of their offense is key.

columbo is much stronger and experienced.

I may not matter much. Brady gonna do what he always does, throws quickly. hits RB's and thats what he'll do cus ochostinko doesnt really scare anyone. I always say, cover welker one on one with press coverage. take his *** out of the game. go from there.
 
Having watched Nate Solder's entire high school career, I am really interested to see him play in the pros. I think Wake will give him all he can handle and give the advantage to us, but I would not be surprised if he acquits himself much better than many of you are giving him credit for. The kid is and always has been a beast. It's too bad he went to the Pats....
