Pats Rookie OT Solder to start?

Sounds good but how many times have you seen a player, specifically on the patriots, show up and play big time. I don't want to hear Jon Gruden saying, "Look at Nate Soldier, holding more than his own against Cameron Wake and company. A rookie, coming in here with no OTAs and a short offseason, and dominating one of the best pass rushers in football. Man that guy really is a Soldier."

I think Cam is better than that, and it won't be like that. But that kind of crap has to stop if we plan to be successful. And its not just the position, or that team, or this player, but a combo and hearing crap like that all the time.

Yea he basically said something just like that.

solder faired much better with wake than i expected and i was shocked that they gave solder so much just one on one against wake...i thought for sure we'd bite them in the *** for it...started to come on late in the first half but overall rookie played damn well...yeah he got away with some stuff but solder was much more physical than i expected and showed nice feet...

Solder had Wake beat all game. Wake didn't stand a chance. This guy plays big and strong. Many of us didn't see this coming.

Well, it looks like Brady will be well protected for a long time...and when Lite goes, Solder will move to LT...another "hit" by the Pats talent evaluators...

He got away with a TON, but I agree. When he wasn't holding, he was playing pretty well.

yeah...not quite your boy derrick sherrod level play though...he of the inactive list for the packers...lmao

In fairness, they're trying to move him inside to guard, and that makes no sense to me. He's not physical enough to excel at that position, but he has nice feet and can protect the QB. Maybe I missed on Sherrod, but I'm not willing to write him off yet.

I figured they would have kept Gronkowski at the line to help block with him. Solder played way better than I expected.
