Pats sign Marcus Thigpen

My question is, can they simply just ask.... Oh hey, like zone read stuff? quick screen stuff?

Or can a NFL actually sit a player down and ask him to start drawing up the entire Dolphins playbook?

Would that not be considered proprietary information?

People in the work force get lawyer lynched for millions for pulling stunts like that.

but i don't think adding these players is anything more than taking advantage of resources at your disposal...it's like a loophole pretty much but it's not technically wrong so no harm no foul

That was my point. It's something I wish these Dolphins would do more often.

Not the venerable enigmatics, he would never be one to argue with everyone he can.

I mean if your gonna argue something at least have a clue what your talking about and make some Damn sense

How's being a hypocrite going for you?

so interesting how many threads I come across where you're arguing and I'm not.....fascinating.

Thanks Dylan. Good to hear from you too!

Not true, he got a defensive guy, now an offensive guy. Very smart.

Definitely an intelligent move.

I'd love it if Philbin comes out with a comment like: If they wanted to know our playbook so bad all they had to do was ask...

he's probably more asking about tempo and late motion things that we already know even but just to get more feel and he may be asking about plans for wide stretch etc he already knows that this teams gonna work heavily out of the zone read it's freaking obvious to run the ball we are gonna have to use it heavily

im not sure about the rules side of it but i'mm sure it's all under the table type stuff...some players aren't smart enough to know their own responsibilities on plays let alone try and draw them up on a chalkboard with all 11 assignments ha ha...so i wouldn't sweat that

Exactly. We sign two we intended to keep and did vs. this situation. Not comparable at all.

Not saying they absolutely won't be discarded, but how do you know the Patriots won't keep them? How do you know they don't like their talents as well as the fact they played for a rival?

Looks Coach Bellichick is nerved up a bit. If he was not, he would not need these two.

Thats the way I see it. I dont see how either of these players can give the Pats any solid infomration. Neither one of them were given game plans for this week, and Thigpen hasn't really been part of the offense anyway, which is why he was cut.

Didn't they do that w/ the jest earlier this yr... or something similar?

p.s. It would be hysterical if Joe Fedex'd a playbook Sherman used... in College Station
