Another injury hits hard on the Patriots in losing Tedy Bruschi for the remainder of the season.

The New England Patriots may have to battle for the AFC East title without one of their defensive stalwarts.

The Boston Herald reported on Monday that linebacker Tedy Bruschi may go on injured reserve due to a knee injury. The injury is not as serious as previously feared, but New England might not have the luxury of keeping Bruschi on the roster as it pushes for the playoffs. Sources told the newspaper he would miss three to four weeks.

and I love all the Super Bowl talk from the Jets.....

Tight end Dustin Keller said players couldn't help but hear what others were saying.

"I think it might have been the case," Keller said when asked if all the talk was distracting. "It's better that it happen now than a couple of weeks from now. Say we do get into the playoffs and then the first round we're in the same mind-set, then we will just let it go."

In other words, the Jets need to get used to being a good team.

Jets coach Eric Mangini has been preaching consistency since he took over the job. Right now, they are consistently erratic, which the players know is something that has to end this week.

It looks as if the rest of the AFC East is coming unglued while the the Dolphins are gelling together as a team. God, this is an exciting season!!!!!

So what happens if the Jets drop their next 2, the Patriots lose one, and we win our next 2?

Trent Dilfer predicted a loss against the 9ers. The Dolphins seem to play better on the road. They were terrible at home against the Ravens and Pats. The Defense just seems to go south in Miami.

Then the division would not be clinched and the Patriots can win it with a Dolphins loss in week 17 and a win in Buffalo. They would have the divisional record tiebreaker at that point.

I don't know that it has much to do with home/away. The defense was awful against the Cardinals on the road, highly suspect against the Texans on the road, and Toronto was almost like a home atmosphere. The Dolphins beat the Bills and Chargers at home with good defense, they didn't allow a touchdown to the Raiders at home, and they only allowed the Seahawks to score 13 points on offense.

With all due respect to Dilfer, I don't think there's necessarily a rhyme or reason to the Dolphins according to whether they're at home or on the road. Overall the D has allowed like 19.0 points per game at home and 18.5 on the road. The rest were special teams, interception scores or safeties.

He played in SF last year, so maybe that had something to do with it...I'm not sure though...Saw the same thing last night.

Good point. He might just be partial toward them the same way Dan is still partial toward us. Dilfer is a west coast guy. I believe that's where he grew up.

Overall he just didn't make a very good point I mean even with the 48 points allowed to New England in that WWE game, the D has allowed about the same number of points at home as they have away. For all that the D let us down a bit at the end of the Baltimore game, the Ravens still only scored 20 points of offense. The other 7 came courtesy of Pennington to Suggs.

And reportedly signed JR. Seau...

Injuries are what happen when you have a roster full of guys that are in their late 30's. The Patriots need to draft well over the next couple of season or they will start fading fast.
