CSN New England expects the Patriots to use OLB Jamie Collins and CB Darrelle Revis on Charles Clay in Sunday's Week 1 opener.
Clay will also see a lot of slot CB Kyle Arrington. But the Patriots know how dangerous Clay can be, and they game-planned to stop him last season by sticking Aqib Talib on him in Week 15. Clay caught one pass for six yards. Collins is an athletic freak, and we'd expect him to cover Clay most of the time when Revis is trailing Mike Wallace. Clay is more TE2 than low-end TE1 this week.
let revis cover him and open Wallace or someone else open that s cool with me. an olb does not bother me on clay

I think they'll about have to put a linebacker on Clay. What makes the most sense to me is for them to put Revis on Hartline then have a corner with safety help over Wallace. Leaves Clay, Landry, and Gibson plenty of room to work with against the rest of the defense. Those guys should be able to have great games, assuming the o-line really is better than they were last year.

put clay in motion a lot to see if true. Wallace being covered by anyone other than Revis you take him long. If they play 10 back, play short.

Collins is a solid LB, but he can't cover Clay one on one.
Bellichick will disguise his intentions. Tannehill's decision making will be the key to this game.

Yes, Collins can. The Fins can make the most yards by attacking Dennard and Arrington and finding a running game. Get some turnovers and win this game.

Agree, Belechick isn't going to let your best guys beat him. IMO he will do his best to take away Clay and Hartline then maybe Wallace but can he take away all 3? Miami's game plan should feature guys like Gibson, Matthews, Landry and the backs out of the backfield. Wallace is the wild card, it will be interesting to see how the Patriots handle him.

Agreed...and I'd have to call Moreno WC#2...not only for his blocking and catching, but last time he played these Patriots he lit 'em up for 227 yards...granted, that was with Peyton playing QB, but I think Tannehill can produce enough to get them to respect the pass...at that point Moreno should do well. Not calling for 227 yards, but he should do fine.

If all Moreno does is a cool 100, that is enough in this heat. Add Lamar Miller and you have a new offense they haven't seen in quite some time in Miami. We beat the pats with a run game, people will start talking about us right away. right now, nobody thinks anything about us.

I don't think Revis can hang with Wallace speedwise....
