Pats vs Fins pre-game discussion

I am a Coyle fan but there are 2 legit concerns about his defense. 1) He likes to drop into zone a lot and our plays get lost and 2) he has us play with big cushions at times.

The run defense is a concern but when you have 2 highly paid LBs consistently missing tackles for loss or short gains what can ya do?

I think expecting 30 pts or more against a New England D that is much improved will be a challenge. I do think we have a great shot today given our defensive lines match up.

I wonder if/how Belichick will try to take advantage of this new emphasis on holding penalties. There is probably a scheme you can run that makes it worthwhile to just try pass every single down. All the 5 yard penalties>>>running the ball. But the downside is the QB may take a lot of unnecessary hits, and I don't think Brady's body can withstand too many more hits before his play deteriorates big time.

I'm worried about "JIMMY MAKES PLAYS!!" Especially with the LB corps so depleted. What **** luck to have LB as the biggest weakness on the team and have two players listed out and two more banged up for week one.

Another bad sign for Jimmy is the fact that we're showing interest in Clemons. Hopefully we luck out and get the Jimmy Omar had been seeing in training camp and not the Jimmy we see standing around with his hands on his hips as a player walks into the end zone or the Jimmy that bounces off players as the last line of defense.

Yeah but, we also have the "Pats Killer" in Michael Thomas to help us win this game. Wouldn't it be something IF he somehow manages to make another big play today?

I'm excited to finally see lazors offense unveiled

I usually watch 2 games simultaniously, trying to figure out which other 1PM game I should check out, Jets-Raiders the best option? Sell me on other matches.

This is why I don't like Coyle. Ever since he got here, the rushing defense has been getting worse, and that started before Ireland swapped LBs. I'm sick and tired of watching his defense give up 20 yard runs on 3rd and 19, and seeing offenses march down the field with 7 yard passes because Coyle has his defenders playing 10 yards off of the WRs.

Are we starting Thomas over Shelley at right guard. I just saw them talk about the O Line on ESPN and they had Dallas Thomas starting. I hope we try to give them a heavy dose of Moreno, Knowshon own them last year. Spread the football today , use all the WRs and lets win it from the line of scrimmage , both offensive and defensive lines. Time to bring it! GO DOLPHINS!!!

My theory all along has been we want the best guys out there to be able to run the uptempo offense. We didn't see any of the uptempo stuff in preseason so its unfair to judge Thomas vs Smith based only on what we saw in the games. If Thomas allows us to run an uptempo much more effectively then that's who should start. Because we need to risk it all and go for the first round knockout and by going hurry up we'll either kill them or kill ourselves. What you don't want to do is play it safe and hope to squeak out a victory in the dying seconds. Go big or go home.

D has to get off the field on 3rd down. Safeties and LBs are going to have to tackle well because they love running the quick hitters and utilizing guys out of the backfield. Get them in 3rd and long and let Wake EAT.

On offense, take care of the ball. Score tuddies in the RZ. Looking for Tannehill to be confident and show he's in command of the new offense. Make the plays that are there…and use your damn feet son.

I agree with you Roy, We got to bring our best against Wilfork. Hope we can move those chains and punch them in the face!
