Well, Miami managed to squander another win away. This was the straw that broke the camels back. Forget the playoffs. Please spare eveyone of any playoff talk.

On defense, Miami played GREAT in the first half. Overall, they had 2 INTs and 2 Sacks. They did good applyng pressure to Brady. They did well stopping the run in the second half. Evans ran on them in the first half, but he was no factor in the second half. The worse display of defense came right after Miami scored and took the lead in the 4th quarter. What a joke! That HUGE pass play negates anything you did all day long. How can you allow NE to bounce back like that? Pitiful. Howard wasn't that far out of coverage, but you cannot allow that to happen. I wonder if they were playing Cover 2 or something to prevent the deep ball? Probably not.

On offense, Miami played sporadic again. They would put plays together and then come up short, or they would go three and out when they need a drive. There were too many plays left on the field on offense. Booker had a GREAT game. Chambers had a weaker game. McMichael played weak as well. Gus had a GREAT first half. In the second half, he was sporadic. The play-calling in the second half was HORRIBLE. I lost count of the amount of play-action passes on 1st down. I didn't know you could run play-action on first down? Who do they think they are faking out? Miami's offense abandon the running game in the second half. Ricky wasn't getting anything done and they kept going to him. Ricky had a turd of a game. Ronnie looked GREAT in the first half. Can someone please tell me why they stopped going to him in the second half?

This game is no different that any game this season. Miami has no identity. They look lost at times on the football field. They play-calling was bad in the second half. Can you believe that Gus threw the ball 47 times today? 47 TIMES!! You must be joking.

Everyone needs to face it. Miami is not ready for championship football. They do not have it together on offense. On defense, they play well. I feel bad for them sometimes. The defense is a group of older guys and they are doing a pretty good job. So where do they go from here? Forget the playoffs. They need to start changing things up to find a winning team. Another disappointing game. How long will this go on?

I agree with most of your post except for how the defense played; namely one guy: Reggie Howard. I put specific attention on him the entire game to see if what has been said about him is true. As a matter of fact, it is true. This guy gives up more coverage than a dancer at a strip joint! He is truly a player that is not playing up to his salary. Yes, he had pretty good coverage on Tim Dwight on the long bomb, yet still, Dwight somehow ends up with the ball. I just do not get the reasoning behind leaving him in the game.

Also, the defense as a unit seemed to give up in the second half. The offense is partly to blame, though. The offense had three straight 3 and outs to start the second half. Not good for a defense.

Why did they abandon running Ronnie in the second half??? If anyone has the answer to that, please let me know. Ricky was not doing much. He averaged a WHOPPING 1.8 yards/carry the entire game! If Miami could have kept Ronnie in there for the majority of plays, I think this game would have had a different outcome. There is just no way that Miami can continue to pass like they do and expect to win games. Granted, Gus did not do a bad job at all. He seemed a little shaky in the second-half, but gave Miami a chance to tie or win. Linehan continues to struggle with his inability to call plays when the game is on the line.

This is a mind-blowing defeat, and I believe it was the straw that broke the camel's back. The playoffs are now probably out of reach, especially since Buffalo won. That puts 3 losses to a division rival. Not good when the number crunchers do their thing at the end of the season.

Yep ... your right he threw 47 times ... but what your forgetting to mention is ... *insert sarcasm here* ... at least we ran it 25 times

25 carries is a joke. Miami should have minimum STANDARD of 30-35 carries a game. That is the question that will sting forever. Why did they abandon the run in the second half? They better not say that they were "forced" into it. I watched them pass on 1st down on the first three possessions of the second half. Play-action on 1st down? Ridiculous..

It seems they put themselves in passing situations on purpose and it makes me angry to see them throw on 1st down. I would like to see a couple drives starting out a game with 3 runs in a row.
