Patterson

I remember that I got killed on here for saying I thought that Patterson was the second best corner on this team during preseason. Oh well I was right :p

I think most wouldn't have really disagreed at him at least being in that ballpark in the pecking order, I think the real debate would have come in what being better than Marshall, Wilson, or Carroll (whose play outside of that awful TD last week has been very underrated the last two years by many who think he still "sucks") really meant anything.

He has me sold, and while I think the hamstring injury is one of those things that make you really question a player's durability, the play he went out on tonight he was just demolished, seemingly by offensive design. I think the Bengals were out to put a punishment on some guys tonight.

He has stepped his game up and honestly deserves pro bowl consideration. He and Grimes form a nice duo. He needs to stay on the field though.

You have to stay on the field to get PB consideration. Although I wouldn't disagree with your assertion if that level of play was kept up over a longer period, in the minds of many, picks don't equal being a great defensive back, and there are lots of guys who get a ton of picks who still aren't highly thought of around the league.

I like Patterson but he's the most injury-prone CB I've ever watched play.

And when you cannot count on a DB to hold up, physically, during a game... and the guy behind you is a 4th or 5th string CB, you're playing with fire.

All these DBs that Miami burned picks on... and R.J. Stanford is your guy? In crunch time? Or Carroll? Carroll cost us the game against NE. But you might say that Patterson cost the game because he's made of glass.

from my angle, which was super low resolution, streaming nfln online, it looked like his groin. :(

He's makes plays. Even if the receivers make the catch, he's always right there on them. It seems like after he picks the ball, he gets injured a quarter later :(

and btw he said he was fine. Said his shoulder is fine and said his groin is fine per nfl.com.

He's been outstanding when he's been on the field.

Find some PEDs you can slip past the piss test and keep him on the field.

Dolphins CB Dimitri Patterson said he's fine after the game. His shoulder was good. And when asked about his groin he responded "I'm fine."

Is there some reason that Jamar Taylor is getting 0 run? I thought he played well in limited preseason snaps...and he did fine against NO. He got snagged on by Graham but was in excellent position. Jimmy Wilson gets abused weekly. He had that big hit last night so I give him credit for that but in coverage hes lost. Then when Carroll and Patterson go down we bring in Stanford.

Confusing

Im really pumped that we aren't relying on rookies this year at db and they can mature under Grimes, who is nasty, and Patterson, who is nasty when healthy. With that said...resign both Grimes and Patterson for 2 more years and either Davis or Taylor gets the slot. Some would say it's a waste of a draft pick- I'd say we have badass corners

They said last night "It looks as if they are trying to get his shoulder back in place".

That would mean he had separation/dislocation of the shoulder. I am wondering how long that takes to heal?

Wheres our two draft picks? Davis and Taylor? Are they that bad they cannot make the field? Or are the others playing at such a high level, there is no room for them on the field?

Taylor was a 2nd rounder. Did we blow that pick too? !

Same sentiment as pretty much everyone here. Patterson makes plays, but needs to be able to stay healthy.

Very exciting player. I hope he's ready to go next week.

Too early to tell whether we blew our picks on those two corners. Cornerback is one of the hardest to transition to for college players it seems. Look at Dee Milliner, who was supposed to be pro ready according to some, struggle consistently. Taylor was also injured a lot coming into the league, who knows if that set him back...

Either way, it's nice that we have these vets in Grimes and Patterson playing consistent ball. Allows us to bring these rookies along slowly.
