What have been your impressions of Jason Allen?
“I’ve been very impressed with Jason Allen; his overall athleticism, his flexibility as a player. He’s capable of playing safety. He’s capable of playing corner. So, we’ve been very, very pleased with how Jason has practiced and played in preseason. We’re very happy that he’s on the team. He gives us position flexibility. He gives you a chance to have a big guy who can match up against the big wide receivers, so that’s something that everybody would like to have.”
What does safety Chris Crocker brings to the table that allowed him to take the starting spot?
“Chris is an experienced played. He’s played in this league, he’s played this position in this league and he gives you a guy back there who’s a great communicator. He’s very, very smart. He’s got great range in centerfield. He can play man-to-man, as Jason can. Now let me say this to you; it’s an awfully difficult decision between Chris Crocker and Jason Allen. That’s not something that’s an easy decision to make. We’re just very very fortunate that we have two players like those two guys who give you guys that can play the safety position and really play all facets of it.”
