Obviously our passing defense is the weakest part of our team. The Jets and the Bills were both able to slow down Drew Brees. With two weeks to watch film and bounce ideas off the wall, Pauly P needs to find a way to stop Drew Brees. If we come out and give up big play after big play against the saints then I think looking for a new D-coordinator shouldn't be out of the question. None of our blitzes get to the quarterback and it seems like the coverages leave big holes down the middle of the field routinely. I know that our safety play has been lackluster at best but I think more of the problem lies in the scheme. It's time to pull it together Pauly, it's your side of the ball. Make it happen or make your way out the door

Isn't Romeo Crennel a good defensive coordinator?

yes i believe he is that is how he got his first head coaching job i beileve.

I think that Paul has always had trouble's when it came to the secondary i have a friend that is a dallas fan and he says that has been the weakest part of his team even going back to when Paul pasqueloni was there

If Bono has survived as the Special Teams coach, Pasquelloni is not getting fired.

Boles would be the coach I want as the DC.

although iam not to keen on our def cord.

isnt the job of todd bowles to improve our secondary????
it has been said he will be a head coach next year
he was even talked about as a head coach in detriot and KC this last season

romeo was seen in camp last year a couple of times

Buffalo didn't slow down Brees, N.O. saw that the run game was there so they controlled the clock and game with a consistant ground attack. NYJ's blitzed him almost every play and never sacked him once! N.O. is a well balanced offensive team and will take what the defense gives them, the best way to stop them is to keep their offense on the side of the field like we did against Indy. Before you start crying we lost that game you do need to reconize that it was the correct game plan but do to some poor execution by the defense it was sabotaged.

Don't let N.O. defensive ranking fool you either they've taken the lead early forcing teams to throw giving them a better run defense statistic and allowing Sharper to make plays in the secondary resulting in ints. Greg Williams has them playing good defense but their not going to shut down our run game and we need to stick to it. Even when we get behind we need to stick to running the ball, this allows the defense to be read easier by Henne.

One advantage we have with the bye week is we really get to see the NYG give us a good view of how to defeat N.O. win or lose this Sunday.

All I can say is joey and the boys better show up, I feel like we will shut their run game down leaving it to brees to win the game and he is more than capable.

I just think with guys like Taylor, Porter,Crowder, Wake that we would see more exotic blitzes. We haven't got **** as far as pressure is concerned.

Paul P ran Syracuse into the ground.

I'd love to get Romeo in here next season. I don't like Paul P. He's not terrible, but his schemes seem easy to read.

all i'm gonna say is that i'm ready for Pasqualoni to be shown the door, and a real DC who knows how to run a 3-4 Defense needs to be brought in...

is one losing season in 14 years, 6-3 bowl record, and sending some quality players into the NFL really running a program into the ground? He had 17 players selected on Day 1 of the NFL draft including 7 first rounders, and at least two Syracuse players were drafted in 11 of the 14 years Paul coached the Orange.

That's besides the point though. He should be a bit more creative, but his D is solid. It's unspectacular and relies too much on the OLBs getting pressure, but it's solid.

If we tackle the guys we are supposed to this thread never gets started.

I think it still gets started. We're not getting much pressure on the QB. When you watch other teams they bring the heat from all over the field. They confuse the offensive line. Miami doesn't do that.

Bowles is the guy whose Secondary keeps falling apart! No.

Romeo could be interesting though and he is one of Parcells guys.
