I've been saying you guys should keep an eye on the Fresno State quarterback, Paul Pinegar.

Well, tonight, the guy completed 25 of 33 passes for 318 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT against Oregon in a losing effort.

I'm telling you. This guy is going to shoot up the draft boards this season and be one of the top 3 or 4 quarterbacks drafted in the 2006 draft.

Paul Pinegar is the second best draft eligible quarterback that I've seen this season.

you always like the obscure guys ;)

who is the "first"?

actually his numbers were 33-43 418yds and 3TDs and 1INT. I really like what I see out of him. He has excellent pocket presence and throws a nice ball. Keep and eye on him

I agree, he has size, smarts and a solid throwing motion.

One of the favorite throws I saw tonight was in the waning minutes of a TE seam touchdown pass. He has an excellent arm and all of the physical tools but the seam pass showed his excellent touch as well as anticipation.

I don't know why he's not better known. Seems to me he's been around forever. I guess the semi-obscure western schools play so late in terms of eastern time the players don't get seen.

Pinegar has always looked like a prospect to me, even as a freshman. He had some injuries after that and seemed to lose confidence and judgment for a while. I read the Fresno Bee on the internet and they were really sarcastic about his erratic play early last season. But late last year he turned it on and had a great bowl game. Seems like it's carried over although I didn't see much of tonight's game with the big Florida schools playing opposite.

Meanwhile, I'm watching 'SC and Leinart is phenomenal. For the life of me I can't figure out the knocks on him like in that long thread here a week or so ago. Every pass is perfect pace and dead on. Reggie Bush is maybe 100 times more instinctive and talented than Ronnie Brown. It's absolutely criminal bad luck we earned the 2nd pick last year and not this year.

No. I didn't watch the entire game. As soon as the MSU game came on, I started watching that game. The numbers I posted were the box score numbers that I found at ESPN shortly after the game.

The kid is an impressive quarterback prospect, and his coach, Pat Hill, coached with Nick Saban in Cleveland.

hey KB what are your thoughts on Garrett McIntyre?

I think one of the knocks on him has been his injury history. He is a very true pocket passer but has awesome pocket awareness. He has outstanding physical size and a great arm. He also has a very quick release and good throwing motion. I recorded the game so I could go back and watch his footwork. He was extremely accurate tonight on all of his throws. Stay tuned with this guy. He is my favorite QB right now to watch where he goes in the draft next year.
