Cameron Wake has played in 110 NFL games and recorded 77.5 sacks for the Miami Dolphins.

Dion Jordan has played in 26 games and recorded three sacks for the Miami Dolphins.

Jordan returned to practice this week for the first time in nearly two years, due to injury and suspension.

And now Wake is trying to help Jordan, in part by reminding the third pick in the NFL Draft that his illustrious NFL career didn’t even begin until the age of 27.

Wake was undrafted and began his professional career in the Canadian Football League.

Jordan, 26, is a two-time offender of the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

But Wake sees a redeeming potential.

“I’m a guy who is a large advocate of grasping the opportunities that you have,” Wake said Friday. “Obviously my story has been spoken about many times. But when you have a chance, whatever it may be, you have to have a laser focus on taking that bull by the horns, whether that’s off the field, studying in the classroom, when that opportunity does present itself, you’re going to have to be as ready as possible. And I have spoken with him many times. And I think he knows that. So I wouldn’t expect anything but him to be ready when that chance comes.”

Cam Wake is a good dude. Most of us have written off Jordan, but I'm glad his teammates haven't. Good vibes in Miami. I think Jordan's time in the league is nearing its end, but he has a chance, and it doesn't hurt to have a guy like Wake in your corner.

Cut Jordan after this year and there's no cap hit. 3 mill saved. Put that money towards keeping Andre Branch
