PBP Mini-Camp Report

:eek: Joey must have a real cannon!

QB Joey Harrington also looked pretty solid at times. Most impressively, he threw a 25-year completion to Kelly Campbell into double coverage by Travares Tillman and Will Allen…

Good report:

Here are a few excerpts:

Based on what I saw at this morning’s first minicamp workout, it sure seemed like Culpepper has a very good chance of starting the season under center.

During Friday’s morning session, Culpepper participated in every drill, just like all of the other quarterbacks. On one play, he even tucked the ball and took off for a sneak up the middle. While he you could sense he wasn’t moving full speed (he was still running pretty quick), he did make a small cut left and bolted downfield.

As for his throwing arm, let’s just say there’s nothing hurting about that. Culpepper got the biggest applaud from a modest crowd when he threaded a 20-yard pass to Marty Booker. A perfectly timed, perfectly smooth completion. Sweet!!!:D

During the same 7-on-7 drills, Culpepper also hit Wes Welker on an even more impressive throw for 35 yards. With safety Renaldo Hill and cornerback Jason Allen both closing in on Welker, Culpepper’s pass snuck right between the two for the completion. Way to go Welker!!!:D

To me it has always been much more about whether or not Daunte can finish the season, than whether or not he can start the season.

One bad shot to the knee is all it would take to make his situation pretty bad at this juncture.

Not to mention he's probably going to have a lot of swelling after games...that swelling could require season-ending surgery at any point. We're not talking ACL reconstructive surgery but just routine stuff could end his season. I'm guessing he'll need his knee drained at least once.

Or, maybe none of that will happen. No one knows. Not you, me, or even the coaches.

Point is, it is extremely encouraging to read everything about Daunte and what he is doing right now. We'll play it by ear and go with the flow.

This could be said for any player in the NFL.

This mini-camp could give some indication of the progress of Daunte's knee in regards to how much swelling and/or soreness he might have this year.

Exactly! Every worry beyond whether DC can start the season or not, is true for any other player in the NFL!

Defensive tackle Rodrique Wright (shoulder), wide receiver Eric Kimble (left foot) and linebacker Eddie Moore (knee) all rode the stationary bike during the workout….

Shocking.

Oh, and did anyone else notice when he referred to Jason Allen as cornerback? Interesting, considering we have been hearing that he will play safety for the most part.

What i thought was interesting was Eddie puss Moore was on the stationary bike. Bet it's got his name on it. (RESERVED FOR EDDIE FU@#IN MOORE)

There isa video posted on the official Miami Dolphins website with some highlights from the morning practice.

Duante seemed to have pretty good mobolity, but was obviously not at full speed. But, what surprised me is that the brace he was wearing was VERY minimal. It was not the heavily braced monstrosity I expected to see at this point in his recovery. I think with 3 months to go and participating at the level he is, that he will be more than ready come opening day. The thing I am wondering about is if he will be abelt o participate in the pre-season games.
