Jakeem Grant 2016-11-06.jpg

Here is some of what Miami Dolphins special teams coordinator and assist head coach Darren Rizzi said Thursday:

Jakeem Grant will be back there again on Sunday at Baltimore as a punt returner. It will be treated situationally. There is cause for concern with the ball on the ground. Grant had never returned punts in college. Devin Hester fumbled eight times as a rookie. It’s obvious what he can do with the ball in his hands. He’s an electric guy. He works very hard. It’s a work in progress.

• Miami played the percentages in bypassing a 53-yard field attempt last Sunday. Score of game was considered. It was about a 50 percent kick. The 49ers had scored on a low percentage of drives of 80 yards or more. If the game was tied or to make it a two-score game, a field goal is tried there. Zero indictment on kicker Andrew Franks. Matt Darr had been exceptional at dropping it inside the 20-yard line. It played out the way they wanted it to. Franks attended RPI. He’s smart enough to understand the situation.

Franks scares me. It hasn't happened yet this year, but there will be a crucial kick down the stretch over 40 yrds that he'll have to make.
