Seems like Chad hasn't been as comfortable throwing him the ball, and now this comes out from practice today..

Interesting exchange between Camarillo and Chad Pennington during a passing drill.
Camarillo didn’t even bother to catch a poorly thrown pass from Pennington, batting it to the ground with his right hand, and then kicking the ball away.
Camarillo seemed to be mumbling something under his breath as he waited for other receivers to do the drill.

This is the last thing we need right now. During the game, I also wondered how Pennington feels about getting yanked for 1st and 2nd down, then going back in for 3rd and 5 or 6 yards. I wonder if he is getting bothered by our play calling.

I hope everyone is just frustrated by the loss. If there are issues with our QB and receivers, this ship can sink quick.

Okay, I like Camarillo, but if this has anything to it, how does he think that he has enough moxie banked with this team to act out like a prima donna? :ponder:

He seems to be a blue collar guy who just catches passes, so I tend to think that he was angry at himself.

Someone else finally said it...

"Pennington has missed on some key passes so far this season"...

This got me to thinking about an interview I heard with Camarillo on Sirius about a month back...

They asked him about Henne and I don't remember it word for word, but it was something to the effect of:

"he's definately not going to be a career backup. He's going to be a great player when he gets his chance" and went on to praise his leadership in the huddle annd poise....

Maybe Camarillo feels the same way I do....sick of softly thrown balls and balls that are never thrown in general.....or maybe he's just pissed about Monday, who knows.

Or he was just talking nicely about Henne. Doubt this stemmed from that time. If it is anything, it's something that just sprung about.

Apparently now Camarillo has said it was frustration with himself...

Gregg C is not getting open and Pennington knows it and Greggs just frustrated. I would be to. Gregg just has to keep working and keep his head up and things will change.

It's interesting that you left the last part of Camarillo's quote out of your post.

REALISTS: 2 HOMERS: 0

Congrats on your 2-0 season so far against the Homers. That's a real sweet accomplishment. The Homers beat you 11-5 last season though, so you got some catching up to do.

Notice I mentioned that camarillo said he's frustrated with himself later in the thread? When I first posted this here, that was not part of what was posted on that blog. It was updated afterward.

You really wanna know why Cam is pissed? This is just my opinion, but it makes sense if you think about it. Before he got hurt last year, he was Penny's go-to guy. If we needed a big play, Cam was the guy. Once he went down, Bess took over that role. Flash forward to this season. Whether Cam has lost a step or two or whether Penny just feels more comfortable with the other recievers, Cam is not that guy anymore. When we needed the big play Monday night, Pennington went mostly to Ginn and a few times to Bess, but never once to Cam. This is why he is frustrated, IMO.

one of pennington's many attributes is his unselfishness. i don't think he is bothered by play calling our coming out of the game for a couple downs. he's probably got the best work ethic of any player
