I know i retired from this site, but who cares about the negativity when its indisputable right now. I know there will still be alotta hair brained dooms day threads but ill just ignore them..

the point of this thread is Chad Pennington.

i heard on sporanos postgame..a few reporters asked about henne, things along the lines of how will he be prepared blah blah blah...but on 2 occasions Sparano said that he needs to see whats going on with pennington before he goes down that road.

that being said - penny is out and he prob is out for the year and out as a dolphin. He is a great player and will prob always be one of my favorite dolphins, but he cant put together back to back seasons and he hurt his already injured throwing shoulder.

some poitns i want to make about penny tho - 1) he has an arm - that first pass was plenty far enough, too bad it was too far and the big one

2) If you dont realize that the dismal atitude around here and the lack of offense had ALOT to do with Pennington getting hurt ur outta it.

we drove all the way down the field and should have had a TD. That is the story of this year so far - efficient runing and not closing. Pennington was looking hungry and was playing ok - we went into the half tied. This game slipped away at the same time my confidence did - when Henne became the starting QB. This isnt a knock on Henne, this is just the truth.

think about this team - they have heard prob as much as we have that Penny wont stay consistant etc. Then before their very eyes their emotional leader and the guy who has run this offense so efficeintly goes down and stays down. The entire confidence and heart of this team had to collapse at that point - i think that has alot more to do with this loss than everything else. I am not saying that we will do squat this season b/c i too think its a lost cause, ESP b/c penny is gone. but what im saying is dont think we have gone back to square 1 completly and that we havnt gotten better - b/c from a talent and a team standpoint we are in year 2 of rebuilding and we arent doing that horribly - the D and O fell apart as soon as Penny went down. After losing another game and how most fans tend to treat these guys i dont expect an emotional recovery for a few weeks or until we get a win.

Mark my words - if we come out and beat Buffalo we might turn the page and jump on an entirely new begining and emotion, b/c that might show the team that after a dismal start, this new guy Henne might be the spark they needed - but if we lose again i expect a steady, steady, decline. Penny was the MVP of this team last year - and him going down completly dismantles this team. I of course could never prove this but we were running and moving the ball pretty well and the Chargers werent doing nething great on O prior to Penny going down and i think if he stays in we win this game. Dont mistake a HUGE HUGE injury for our entire team being pathetic.

8-12 54 yards. That was his line score when he went down. It was something like 6-9 49 yards at half I believe. He was far from being spectacular today.

Chad Pennington should be recognized as one of the greatest Miami Dolphins of all-time. The turnaround he orchestrated last season was phenomenal.

God Bless #10!

No one said he was spectacular. Point is we were very in the game and i truely beleive this teams confidence and heart collapsed after he went down. plus how much of that has to do with playcalling and a great running game?? there is a much different element to QB's and team leaders than just skill set and "rocket arms" Pennys intangibles helped to carry this team.

Pennington will always be one of my favorite quarterbacks that ever played for the miami dolphins, but now we must look to the future, and hopefully its Henne

It's hard to know who the rest of the team is behind. On the one hand, Penny was the obvious emotional leader last year. This year? Maybe the team was behind him, maybe not. Maybe there are some players clamoring for Henne, just like there are many fans doing the same.

Penny was hungry this year, and if anything he played way too carefully to start the season. Perhaps because the expectations (from inside the team as well as outside) were too high. Now he might be out for the year and I feel really bad for the guy. He worked so very hard this offseason and gave this organization everything he had and more. The young guys are fortunate to have played with him.

But now it's time for another era for Miami Dolphins football whether we like it or not...one that I am guessing will be more down before it turns up. I really thought this was our last year for a while where we would contend - the team will now rise and fall with Henne and White. Let's hope one of them can keep last season's success from being the anomaly in a losing decade.

You could see it in Pennington's face on the sideline...he knows he's finished. He should retire as a Fin...won't be with the Jets since they screwed him. I know Henne had a rough start in the game, but he showed resilience and drove down the field for the TD. That coupled with Ginn's drops and he actually had a pretty good outing

Let me tell you something....

Nobody gives a **** about Pennington's intangibles....especially the teams on Miami's schedule....

He's 0-4 in his last 4 games....turnover after turnover after turnover after turnover....he can barely crack 100 yards passing anymore.....the offense can't score points with him....the Wildcat is the only thing even keeping this offenses head above water....

If these clowns in the front office don't detatch themselves from this scrub and learn how to find a real ****ing quarterback.....they'll be run out on a rail just like all the last one's have....

Many people on this site need to realize that without Penny last year we win maybe 4 games. We should all respect the hell out of this guy. I hope his season is not over. I would like to see what Henne can do but not at the expense of losing Penny to an injury. Penny is a class act.

Penny would of been enough today, I truly believe that. Final score 16-13 mia, honestly our D gave up 2 huge Play action perfect rivers passes. Thats it.

The coulda shoulda wouldas are never gonna end.....Pennington put 3 points on the board....now you think in 1 more quarter he would have added 13????

Something is just horribly wrong with this team this year. There's no fire, especially on offense and also on defense. And it's mostly the same players. Some is Penny's fault, but there are other factors too. It's a confused team with no identity, IMHO.

Pennington does'nt throw pass the 1st down marker, he stares down receivers, he never pump fakes...I thought he was smart.

THat is typical for Pennington, he is a thinker, methodical, thats his type if game. Dont laugh at those stats, i think Cassel was like 14 for 18 with 81 yards, and he played the entire game.

And yet IMO would know what we have in the stable. But like alot of write ups said before the season. MIA got intoxicated with winning, and so did this FO and CS. They added no depth and no playmakers. There is plenty of blame to go around for this season.

Penny did a good job for a 1-15 team, but I thought this year was about coming off a 11-5 team. Penny in his first 3 games this season showed nothing.
