You know QB is the most important position in the game and although Pennington does a great job at not losing the game he doesn't do much to win it either. Pennington is a game manager his sole purpose in this offense is to not turn the ball over. I really really believe that this coaching staff is relying on YAC and the running game to win games for us and as much as I would love for that to happen it isn't going to happen. Defenses need to respect Chad Pennington playmaking abilities but the problem is that he doesnt have it in him. The man lacks the zip on his throws, he plays scared because he doesnt want to make a mistake. He refrains from throwing downfield because of fear and lack of power. I am convinced this guy is not here to win games for us but to manage them in order to give us hope that someone else can win it for us IE R&R or our defense which sucked it up last night as well.
:thanks:

You would think game manager...at least until that last drive...now who the hell knows.

A QB is not a playmaker...he gets the football to playmakers.

So the clinic that Peyton put on last night turning our secondary into school boys was not that of a playmaker? So if Pennington was the Colts QB you think they would of opened the game with an 80 yard TD? Peyton is the Colts.. without him the Colts are done. He is their playmaker.

i was breaking down some plays from last night there are time where guys are open down the middle and he go to the check down wr or rb there guys open trust me look at the tape you will see that. he just doesnt feel good throwing the ball down field... Dont know if its him or what

The QB has to make plays as well. Some QBs do it differently than others but at some point in every game, they have to make a play. The QB also has to give the playmakers the ball where that gives them the best opportunities to make plays.

A great QB he is...but without the playmakers...he's just another QB. You never hear that a QB makes plays all by himself...it takes receivers and running backs to make the plays possible. Manning is like the gun...but like a gun it is worthless without the ammo.

No matter how ugly the last drive was, he put us in a position to win the game and our only supposed "playmaker" sh*t the bed, period

I agree..but to call a QB...a true playmaker is wrong...he can hand off the football..he can pass it...but after that...it's only up to the playmakers on the team. You can have a great QB...with lousy runners and no receivers and you'll have next to little chance of winning.

Was Bob Griese a playmaker...or was he a QB that played with playmakers?

-In case you didn't notice Dallas Clark was open 10 - 15 yards downfield practically at will.

-A rookie WR taking a hitch pass for a 60 yard TD?

-The rookie RB running over our D for a 30 yard TD.

Ya thats a big time QB clinic. You act like he was playing the 85 Bears.

nah man our playmaker had 136 yards and 2 TD on 24 carries. Ginn is not our playmaker, remember he wasn't asked to be picked 9th in the draft a failure of a coach and front office made that decision.

I don't think so. Look at what Big Ben does or any QB that can extend a play, which includes Pennington at times. Some QBs do more than just hand the ball off or pass it to receivers. They create opportunities for themselves and others to make plays.
