Thats what I thought at first. I thought that he would be a great veteran quarterback to mentore Henne, who is a very prommising rookie. After watching the last five games though, I started reading up. Pennington is not THAT old, and he is playing at a very, very high level. Sure, maybe he cannot sling the ball 60 yards down field. Besides, im not sure we have any recieves who are a threat to get open 60 yards down field. We take a whole lot of good, with the little bit of bad. I know that Henne is our quarterback of the future, and I am very impressed with what I have seen of him, but with Pennington playing so well, I am not sure if we want to throw Henne in to start next season. If its not broken, why fix it? This is just one mans opinion.

Romo set for 4 years and Bill still didn't like him and talked like he was child when he put him in. If Chad plays well he will start till he don't IMO. We signed him for 2 years for a reason so if anything he will be a 2 year fix IMO and Bill and co. isn't know for letting quality players that complete more balls than anyone in the NFL and don't turn the ball over go because they draft someone high.

I don't see CP starting next year, but, you never know. I think alot will depend on Henne, but, TunaCo never usually hesitates to start veteran QBs

I want Henne in next year. When Henne comes in we'll most likely take a small step back because of him basically being a Rookie on the field and if we wait another year to start him then our team will be starting to hit its stride when we take that step back.

Hopefully, CP will start as long as he is playing the way he is playing now. 2, 3, 4 years, let Henne sit and learn only coming in for cleanup or garbage time. Given Parcells MO with QB's, (granted Sparano is the coach but I have to assume he is coaching the same way BP would have) as long as CP keeps playing well, Henne sits, no matter how long it takes.

i feel the same way too, i thought he was just a stop gap, but hes playing very well despite the lack of WR's. imagine how good we'd be if we actually had a threat at the wide out position.

CP is playing well and as long as he does that he is going to start, Henne will be the future after Penny is done, whether it be injury, bad play, or retirement. The way things look now i'm good with retirement.

Am I the only one that thinks there will be another QB competition in the offseason? Pennington will obviously have the advantage but still, I think Henne will compete and if he plays out of his mind I'd expect him to be the starter.

That's exactly what I think.

Yeah i'm with Goon and Outlaw,

I think Pennington is the guy this year, with a legitimate competition between he and Henne during the off-season.

I think CP will be our starter until he gets hurt Then CH will get his chance... I hope CP doesnt get hurt but that is the way it seems to happen in the NFL.

I Am Very Happy To See A Consistent QB... And We Will Ride Pennington Until He Starts To Not Play Well... But Right Now, He Looks GREAT

I agree completely.

I don't think there will be an outright QB competition, but Henne is obviously going to play like he wants it. While I don't think there will really be a 'QB competition', I don't think the FO would hesitate to put Henne in if he looks better next offseason.

At first, I only expected Pennington to be the starter for a year, maybe two. Seeing him now though.....I wouldn't be surprised to see him start for the next 4 years. It's nice to know we have that much quality at QB, but I want to see Henne start. Pennington is good, but everybody knows his limitations. I'm happy with him for now though, he's making us competitive.

Well Pennington is an injury prone quarterback so there's a chance due to his history that Henne might come in much sooner than later.

If Pennington is able to stay healthy, I don't see Henne starting till 2 years from now. Pennington is playing at a high level. Henne will have to beat him really good to take the job.
