Did anyone else know the game was pretty much over right before the 2 minute warning?

I think even Chad Pennington himself knew he wasnt going to lead this team down the field for a touchdown.

Our 2 minute drill was a joke.

i knew pennington couldnt led us on a Winning drive eather he doesn't have the arm throwing 5 yards ever play isnt going to get us crap

Looked like he did his part to me..

a hail-mary throw to win the game with 6 seconds left in the endzone is almost always picked, no matter who throws that pass.

Really? Because I gotta tell ya, I was right there at the game and from what i could tell we were one good catch away from winning that game, and Chad Pennington leading us down the field. He drove us down the field. The play calling was really suspect but he made some great throws and did every single bit that you could have asked of him.

LOL, was the 2 min drill pretty? NO!!! did Penny put the ball where it needed to be? YES!!! Did Ginn show us why he was picked #9 overall? noooooooooooo

Yeah Ted Ginn should have made that catch, but hes weak and soft

What about the wasted time running the ball at the beginning of the drive?
What about the lack of urgency following the QB sneak?
What about his fumble caused by poor pocket presence?

I don't know if it was all CP or just crappy play calling by the offensive coordinator

you dont think the playcalling is favored b/c of Penningtons lack of arm strength?

I just know one thing, which none of us can deny, we drove the ball down the field and put a catchable ball in our #1 receiver's hands.

man he must of been very surprised when he put the ball right in a catchable place to win the game.......god i get so mad when reading some of these retarded posts.

To me Penny lost control and was no longer a leader out there during the 2 minute. He managed the game fine before that. But when the circumstances changed he phased out. It just may have been lack of confidence.

Its not just him. The entire offense lacked the urgency. This offense has confidence in the running game and the WILDFIN. But it does not have that comeback mentality and it knows its limitations with the deep ball. But again if the D had held the Colts it would not have come down to that. Plenty of blame to go around and not just Penny.

I agree. But that was about the only real shot we had. Other than that Pennington really didnt do much in that last drive. We were playing like we need a field goal to win.

In that situation that was the only shot we needed and the player doesn't make the play. IMO this is the NFL alot of times you only get one good shot at it and players have to make plays. Example, first play of the game, Manning to Clark, Clark goes after the ball, that wasn't an easy catch but he makes it, why can't our receivers do that.

Absolutely! we played like we were 3 down and not 4. Penny most certainly proved he can, even with the fact as a team we are not effective with the deep pass, get us into fg position. He did not do what the great qbs like Manning did to us. Of course Ginn had two hands on that pass. That throw was good enough for a TD.

And Penny losing control of clock management could be part of a deep seated lack of confidence in the entire passing game. Is there a trust issue between Ginn and Penny? Trust as in confidence that Ginn can make the big catch when the game is on the line. Penny certainly knows that Ginn is the closest thing we got to a dependable deep threat and the only guy whose number will be called in that situation.

Yes good question. Why can't our receivers do that? There is something obviously missing. It may be as much as a psychological thing as a physical one.
