I have been to every home game this season and have seen it every game. Today it was VERY obvious. There were multiple times our recievers were running wide open with THEIR HANDS IN THE AIR, and Chad doesn't see them/ignores them.

I'm not sure what is going on but I counted at least 8 times Camerillo or Ginn were 30 yards down the field with no one within 5 yards.

The worst time Ginn was running left to right from the 30 until inside the endzone and had his hand raised the whole time. He ran across the whole field open. Everyone in my section 150 was screaming at Pennington but that play he tucked and ran for a small gain. How can you not see a reciever when he goes all the way from the left to the right side and is open the whole way?

I never mentioned it on here but it's really pissing me off on the 160 mile drive home.
Bought a Pennington jersey at the Jets game, and am starting to regret it.

Pennington didnt have an awful day but I was not impressed. He is known for his accuracy yet he misses Fasano on the first drive down near the endzone. And this isnt the first game that Pennington has missed open recievers. If the throw is deep or a long throw Pennington doesnt have the confidence to make he throw. The only way Pennington will succeed is if we had a big reciever that could take the ball away like Johnson from the Texans. Only we dont so he will not win in Miami. I would like to see Henne in play since our blocking is doing well. We wont make the playoffs anyway so why not get the rookie some experience. Pennington is an excellent backup but as a starter he just doesnt cut it on a team with as many wholes as we have.

I with you 100% and I get so sick of Ginn getting so much flak on here. Yeah he has work to do but what is he suppose to do when he is never thrown the ball. Everyone on here is so quick to jump down Ginn throat and so just as quick to defend Pennington. Personally I am sick of it all. Receivers are only good when they get the ball.

Either way I am still on Pennington's side but I really wish they would work on some pass plays past 10 yards.

This is the worst thing about Chad. The wide receivers get blamed for not getting open by people who can't see if they're open or not. Chad seems to be afraid or something when it comes to throwing longer passes. He is too much of a veteran to be missing all of these wide open guys right?

It's really hard to see them open on TV.

I am havng a hard time understanding Pennington. I can't figure out if he is not seeing them open, or just doesn't want to throw to them, or sees something I am not.

Very true and I saw ginn today throw his hands up fustrated when pennies weak arm didn't reach ginn. I wouldn't be surprised to see ginn showing signs of unhappiness with this but he might be scared he'll lose his spot on the team if he speaks out with this organizarion.

All in all I've been saying this since week 2. Ppl still defend penny for some stupid reason. How can hnne complete 20 yards to the same wr group but penny can't? How is that the wr fault clearly it isn't.

Pennington still went 24/35, but I totally agree that he was totally off today. When he missed his receivers, he really missed them.

I'm sure this won't do anything to sway some of you out there that are on the anti-Pennington agenda, but in the NFL, players often appear to be open downfield. What's happening on most of those plays is that the defenders are breaking off their coverage assignments and making guys appear to be wide open downfield.

This is a very typical mistake (fans at the game thinking guys are wide open all the time downfield).

Pennington had one of his worst days but still threw for 295 yards and connected on 4 throws of 20+ yards. He had 9 completions go for 15 yards or more.

exactly. People say the receivers aren't getting seperation, but countlessly today they were wide open and penny didn't respond well. Like you, I'm not sure if its lack of awareness, just being hurried and can't concentrate down field, or is choosing not to throw it. It's not so much that he is missing some guys on throws (which he is), but he is missing big opportunities and instead just takes mediocre gains, like that one you mentioned with ginn running around in the endzone, and penny takes off and gets some extra yards instead. Hopefully this gets addressed at practice....

Okay, so when was the last time Pennington hit Ginn streaking down the sideline?

Like I said, I know that my post won't sway those of you with the anti-Chad agenda.

For the record, how many times has any quarterback hit Ginn streaking down the sideline?

Hasn't happened since college.

This is the NFL, so even gunslingers only connect on those types of plays once in a while.

Came all the way from Cali, sat in sec. 445 and saw numerous WIDE OPEN guys. Him overthrowning close guys and underthrowing 10 yards downfield. OMG, it was soooo frustrating. I gave him the benefit of the doubt before todays game, but seeing it live, I am convinced that CHAD is the one responsible. Ginn was sooo open, he could have packed a lunch and ate it out here before anyone came near him. He misses Fasono on the first drive by overthrowing him. Then does what everyone says he doesn't do and gift wraps an INT/TD for the Ravens "D". He had time to deliver the ball, he just seemed to be scared all day. Anyway, I don't like coming 3000 miles to see a chicken behind center. This loss, IMO, is squarely on his shoulders.

Thanks for not answering my question and painting me as an "anti-Chad," guy. Chad still gives us the best chance to win, but let's not pretend that he can make the throws down the field.
