Pennington is someone that every fan can enjoy. The guy works hard, doesn't complain and is destined to be a coach in the league one day. The fact that he has said that the Phins is his first choice on returning, especially knowing he will be a back up, IMO casts a lot of doubt on Joey Porters complaining about the leadership of the coaches of the team. The Porter experiment has run it's course.

By the way i would love to have him back......he's a pro's pro.

Chad is one of my favorite all time players, he is all class both on and off the field BUT the situations are totally different. No one knows if Chad can even play again and they have a young QB who showed alot of promise last year. Chad wasn't benched or saw his PT decrease while healthy and still able to contribute.

Chad was willing to mentor a rookie QB and step off the field so that we could run the wildcat. He is really one of the classiest players I've ever heard about.

There is really no comparison. It's not like they demanded that Porter take a pay cut because of less playing time. Porter has a gauranteed contract.

Pennington voluntarily coached the other players on his days off in addition to all of the normal practice time. Porter was asking for time OFF from practice.

Joey really managed to slime himself this time. None of his past issues made him look anywhere near this bad, and this time he did it to himself.

What the guy brings to a team is incredible. He just knows how to bring motivation and a winning attitude into an organization. Pennington was a steal and there is no doubt in my mind about that. I think he'll have great success if he decides to become a coach in the future.

Two things....
#1. Porter's argument has looked silly from the start.
#2. Who goes if Pennington comes back? I'm all for keeping Penny around as a backup I don't want to get rid of Thigpen either and will the Phins FO really cut loose of Pat White already?

Porter looks silly no matter what happens or doesn't happen with the rest of the team.
He wants to make it look like he doesn't want us when in reality.... we don't want him.
nice try joey.... we see through you.

He doesn't have to be listed as a QB to run that stupid 'WildPat' they would just have to tweak it a little.

Listen if I came to work and did NOTHING and got paid, I'm just gonna smile nod, and say something ONLY when checks stop clearing!

So who's roster spot would he take? He's not going to take one of our WR's spots, or RB's so where does he fit in? It will be interesting to see what happens but I have a feeling Thigpen would be on his way out if Penny came back.

Why do you think it would be Thigpen and not White. Thigpen was at least able to run the offense last year and you can't even say that about White.

You also can't make the arguement that White will be around because he is one of Sparano's guys. We gave up a draft pick for Thigpen last year so he could be considered one of Sparano's guys as well.

If we do bring Penny back, I would see Henne as the starter and CP as the backup going into training camp. I think the coaches would let White and Thigpen battle it out for the 3rd QB spot in training camp, thus allowing the best man to win. This outcome would be the most likely as this coaching staff always likes competition for roster spots.

Just a hunch more than anything but I don't see them giving up on Pat White already when he was a high 2nd rounder last year. Personally I'd much rather Thigpen be kept though.

hopefully the FO's pride doesn't get in the way and if thigpen is the better player, they drop white. unless of course they talk with thigpen and he want's to be released to fight for a starting gig, or even second string. thigpen is too good to be a 3rd stringer...

man you guys are so weird.. so pennington says he wants to be back now your drooling over penny..what happened to the weak arm argument.. The point im trying to make is that i've been an advocate for pennington all along.. Because I recognize and some of you as well..and definately the coaching staff, that leadership goes a long way....forget arm strength.. pennington brings the best out of our players....henne does too but he is a little more less energetic and enthuastic.. I can live with pennington having a weak arm and coming back than I can henne with his strong arm... Though I do think if he comes back he will be a back up...penny is a team guy.. hes more willing to go out there in the wild cat and do stuff... Henne was more of a "im getting out of sync if you take me out kinda guy" you guys hate on porter for getting mad when he comes out...though henne isnt as boisterous with his malcontent, he still is unhappy and voices is opinion on being taken out for the "stupid wildcat" anyway... Pennington is better for us on the team than he is not with us...Henne alone is cool and all but you jus dont know which henne is gonna show up on sundays

I agree he does remind me a lot of Jason Garrett and who know's with his knowledge of the game which is what jason had alot of also he could become a damn good coach.

No way Penny is back as a player for us. He's the past, this team is building for the future. Now as a scout or QB coach or assistant, yes. But not as a player.
