HBO's Carter maintains Pennington out of his league.

I can't post the link because of my post count, but here is a transcript of what it said:

NEW YORK - Cris Carter created a buzz last week by proclaiming on HBO's "Inside The NFL" that Chad Pennington "has always been overrated." On Sunday, Carter watched Pennington shake off a poor start and play a perfect fourth quarter in the Jets' win over the Dolphins.

Was it enough to make Carter change his opinion? Uh, not exactly.

If anything, the game reinforced some of Carter's feelings. Except now, after seeing Pennington's lack of velocity on downfield throws, Carter is convinced the Jets' quarterback is feeling the effects of offseason shoulder surgery.

"I still think he's still hurting; I don't think he's 100 percent," the former wide receiver told the New York Daily News. "No one in the organization will admit that publicly, but I think he's still suffering from major surgery. When you don't have a big arm to begin with, and you go under the knife, how strong can your shoulder be?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not so sure he is out of his league, but I definitely saw some negative affects from his shoulder surgery on Sunday, especially that one pass to McCareins on that first drive.

Thanks,

that was last week, and they ripped him again tonight on Inside the NFL on HBO...
Collinsworth: "He threw some of the softest passes i've ever seen in the NFL"... or words to that affect...

Well, the frustrating part was that those soft passes were being completed. I had people at my house and even they were like, that guys throws slow. Had we played a little more bump and run, I think we would have had at least one int, if not more. Oh well.

The amazing thing, is that Fiedler is not exactly strong armed either, so basically they have two noodle arms at QB. I would not be sleeping well at night if I were a Jet fan

Not that we are much better, but at least we knew that from the begining of the season.

He has got to be the most overrated player in sports. His arm has always been weak. I'm so tired of seeing him all over t.v. in commercials and stuff.

You can tell that Cris Carter just can't stand Pennington one bit.

i agree.

this article is more of an indictment on our coverage than pennington

that deep throw to mcariens (sp) was like a short punt and our defenders still couldnt get there in time

no Donovan Darius this week to feast on Pennington passes... bummer..

Man, that 40 yard floater that Reggie Howard couldn't cover was pathetic. That thing was the worst completion I have ever seen. The thing just stayed in the air, and Reggie Howard still got beat.

I can't wait till the Bucs get a shot at this noodle arm. He is overhyped. Maybe more than Mike Vick.

I was actually surprised that you guys didn't pull that one out. Kudos to their defense, I guess.

Okay so here is a question seeing as how the jets had 2 noodle arm Qb's who would you had rather they play against?

Fiedler or Pennington

I know there was a post earlier last week asking who we would rather play against.

me personally I wish it would have been against Fiedler. I mean alot of the defensive players had practiced against him and know him probably as well as anybody.

Hmmm, that weak noodle arm has whooped us pretty solidy and has a winning record as a quarterback. Not to mention playoff berths that gunners like palmer and culpepper could only dream of. Lets beat him and then talk.
