It makes sense. If Beck gets hurt, Henne isn't going to be able to step in, and Pennington will be more consistent then McCown.

Fortunately, Beck will stay healthy and Penn won't sniff the field.

Although HIGHLY unlikely that he's a backup, I do agree he'd make a better one then McCown.

why would Parcells give him 'starter' money just to be a back up :err:

Because John Beck has recently become Joe Montana/Roger Staubach/Peyton Manning/Dan Marino/John Elway...COMBINED.

Remember, you heard it here first.
:D

I would bet some money both Henne and Beck look better than Pennington for the rest of TC. This team has issues and bringing in CP is not going to solve them. If we want a QB that is accurate on the short passes then just start Beck because thats all Penny is going to give you.

Hahaha, some people are still in denial. Pennington came here to start, and no amount of postureing by Beck appologists is going to change that. The writing is on the wall. Beck will be 29-30 before Pennington's contract is done. ChadP is keeping the seat warm for ChadH.

Pennington doesnt have a contract long enough to become a back up. Henne will be ready in two years but in the meantime Pennington is the STARTER. Chad and Chad, Oh Yeah. The C & C Express LOL.

I like Beck, but Pennigton is the starter no if's, and's, or but's about it. If you're Chad Henne and John Beck, Pennington is the kind of guy you want to learn from, unlike Chainsaw Charlie.

I've been a down and out for awhile so imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning and saw the news. I gotta say emotionally I'm not happy about this Pennington aquisiton but after reading some posts I'll try and get on board... eventually.

One question though... why the heck didn't we go after Favre? Did I miss something?
