Going into his contract year do you think if he plays well do we resign him or let Henne take over

If we make the Play-Offs again we re-sign.

If not thank him for a great time and all the work that he put in to help us re-build our legacy!

Parcells came here to solidify his legacy. Pennington is his shot at solidifying it in the near future but Henne's career will also affect it. To answer the question, I like everyone else have no idea what the future holds.

I say ride pennington's arm until it/he fails us even if it is injury or whatever. We have a proven commodity in pennington so i can't see, unless a trade of course, us replacing him with an unproven QB. Pennington understands he came here to play a certain role, and when he can't perform that role any longer he will understand something will have to give. I don't think it will be a big deal.

If he stays healthy and continues to play well then why not keep him? Remember what we fans had to go through waiting for a QB that could walk and chew gum at the same time? :crazy:I have high hopes for Henne but I am not in any hurry to see a change at the QB postion.

you don't fix what's not broken
we are only in the second year of rebuilding the Franchise
let the stable quietly compete & develop under the veteran QB

I think we'll see Henne in before the end of the season. I predict Pennington will get injured, as is his history, and Henne will be in. We'll see how that goes, and, then, I think the contract will work it'self out.

Such negative thinking. I hope your wrong and Pennington makee the PB like he should have this year.

Romo=bench for 4 seasons. Our FO's track record has been to stick with vets until the latest possible moment. I will say that our FO has spoken very highly of Henne and he will have a chance sooner rather than later if he continues to impress. Remember all his praise from fans are coming from a week 4 preseason game and Pennington was brought in because NONE OF OUR QB's was starter worthy nor did anything to seperate from each other.

I doubt my thinking is going to impact the situation either way. I'm not rooting for it, I just believe it's going to happen, and I think the odds back me on it.

Ted Ginn might be the determining factor. If Pennington can't get enough deep passes to Ginn, Henne might have to start in 2010. I know Ginn wishes Henne was the QB this season because Chad P. doesn't really allow him to do what he does best but he'll never say that publicly.

Henne also thinks very highly of Ted and his abilities so it should be quite a dramatic improvement for our passing game once the younger Chad sees the field.

Lets also not forget our reigning No.1 overall pick is eager for his teammate of 5 years to take over as well.

the more time Pennington plays quality football & grooms our stable of young QB's the better for the team.

I feel almost apologetic in making such a condescending & perhaps totally misguided observation: but, it seems to me there are fans amongst us that still consider Pennington a Jet & have not embraced him completely as a Dolphin.
This guy is one of us. He was abused, misused & humiliating by the Jets. (the Tuna drafted him as a Jet , then picked him up as a Dolphan) Pennington is a Miami Dolphin Hero, our starting QB & a major element as a player/coach in our rebuilding process. He is the most important single player on the team.
His mark is stamped all over our offense & we could not be the same team, let alone AFC Champion, without him.

1) no guarantee Henne will start after Pennington
2) judging from last season, there's no guarantee Pennington will retire anytime soon
3) Pennington is the man; he's the starter.:woot:the other two are number two's, aspiring to start, competeing & developing under the tutalage of the RealDeal, Chad Pennington. :D
4) let things take their course
