Pennington is our QB (for right now) I don't think his arm strength is as bad as everyone is saying. Honestly i'm sick of everyone who thinks he lacks the arm strength to throw the ball 15 years on a out pattern I'm just sick of you guys! He gives us the best chance to win right now so back him!

He certainly made every throw today. Its not as bad as publicized. But its still not great.

I do not think he played particularity well. Especially with his more difficult throws further down the field. He was ok, certainly not the reason we lost. I bet he would have played a lot better had he been given some RUN SUPPORT.

Everyone's is entitled to their opinion. And I think his arm strength is a concern.

Chad P looked really good in the 4th quarter....I just don't get why we started off so bad. It would have been nice if we had another quarter of football.....but when you fall 13 points behind you rarely give your team a chance. I think we can do better next week at Arizona.

I agree, if you watched the game today, when he was off he was over throwing the ball. His arm strength inssues are exaggerated. He does not have a great arm, but its not bad either. He played good for just being here a month with recievers he has never played with before, and mediocore receivers at that. Lets put the blame on this game where it is deserved. Wrs are weak, O-line is still a work in progress, and the mental breakdowns was unbelievable.

He had a very poor start...I hope it was just rust and getting back up to regular-season speed. He played well after the first three series.

I disagree and agree with you. First, his arm is a BIG concern. It cuts off half the field. The D was filtering everything inside and clogging it up. A perfect example was the flee flicker we tried, the CB squated once he saw the receiver was going outside so he could concentrate on the run. His arm strength affected our running game. On his PA passes, he looked middle everytime. His arm is even worse than Fiedlers. Now I agree with you, he gives us the best chance to win right now, but we are going to have to have 70 and 80 yard drives that chew up the clock and have nothing go wrong for 10-15 plays to score, because the home run isn't there. Which sucks, but Chad is very accurate and throws a very catchable ball. We just have to live with it and pray for some YAC to bust a few big ones, which is not our receivers strong point.

It wasn't the arm strength from Pennington that disappointed me today as much as it was his accuracy. It's easy to blame our WRs, and they certainly share a big portion of this loss, but there were several occasions where Pennington had an open guy and he just missed him.

Early in the game I thought it was nerves. Later in the game I think it was just plain accuracy issues. It could be the new team, the new playbook, the new stadium, his old team, whatever. I still support him & I'm not calling for his head yet, I'm just saying he's got room to improve just like the rest of the team.

Huh? We only tried one flea-flicker, and on it, Ginn got behind the secondary. Unfortunately, the pass was never even attempted because Ricky Williams never actually pitched the back Pennington and was tackled for a one-yard loss.

ya, covering Boldin and Fitzgerald should be a breeze for our crap secondary. :hi5:

this is exactly what 95% of your scoring drives will look like. and the homeruns will all be the YAC type. maybe one or two 50 yard rainbows. expect to see alot of wounded ducks.....and of course be prepared for the end of game drives that go 9 or 10 plays and almost score but instead end with a game ending interception (like the one today, for instance). also look for the offense to get in the red zone and settle for field goals. one of chad's favorite red zone plays in the corner fade...so you'll be seeing alot of that. but mostly the very boring...dink and dunk check-down offense that inflates pennington's completion percentage and qb rating.

Exactly. Chad Penningnton's arm is not an NFL arm. He can not make the throws necessary to make a defense defend the whole field. Get Henne ready for the second half of the season so he can develop with the young guys. I would rather loose with the rookie now, so he can be ready to start next season with some expierence under his belt.
